25.01.2022 I absolutely love visiting new centres and this week was no exception. The children and the staff at Stanmore Kindergarten were full of energy as we danced, stomped, marched and shook our way through Australia, Japan, UK and USA (Hawaii). Thank you for booking Little Travel Adventures. I hope to be back again soon!!!
25.01.2022 Do you have an itchy foot? With travel restrictions still in place what better way to explore the world than through books. This week is book week & one of my favourite children’s books is Julia Donaldson’s the Snail and the Whale. A story of a snail with an itchy foot who hitches a ride with a whale to explore the world. #littletraveladventures #culturalincursion #bookweek #itchyfoot

21.01.2022 Did you know both the Paradise Parrot & the Tasmanian Tiger havent been seen in over 70 years. And with so many Australian native animals & plants on the endangered list it is more important than ever to look after our environment & live in balance with the land. Everyone can make a difference. We can start by making sure our rubbish goes in the bin, we reuse & recycle when we can, start a compost or a worm farm to reduce the amount of waste going in the bin, plant more tre...es which creates homes & food for animals, and keep pets at home and put collars with bells on them to warn native animals. What are some of the ways you have been making a difference? Little travel Adventures, classes that are active & educational!!! Pictures from Wikimedia commons.
21.01.2022 This week is Science week! Ever wondered how Flamingos get their pink colour? Its because of the beta carotene found in the algae and shrimp they eat. Similar to the way seafood changes colour from green or blue to orange or red when cooked, once the food is digested by the Flamingo it changes the colour of the Flamingos feathers! Amazing! So our inspiration for getting active this week is the beautiful butterfly who starts off life as a caterpillar. We have been practicing our caterpillar crawls, a great exercise for upper body and also core strength. And having a strong core helps to keep a good posture. Happy crawling everyone! 09.01.2022 Did you know that one third of Pompeii is still buried? Buried by ash and rock when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79AD, the city remained hidden until 1748. Over the years they have discovered ancient frescos, statues, jewellery, an amphitheatre where Gladiator contests would have taken place, baths, plus you can see casts of people and animals in their last moments in time, created when they filled the empty spaces with plaster like a mould. This is just one of the sights in Italy children will learn about on their Little Travel Adventure. 07.01.2022 Australia has some beautiful birds. One of those birds was the Paradise Parrot, which has now not been seen since 1927. There are many things we can do to stop our native animals from becoming endangered or even extinct; plant more trees, place bells on pet collars to warn unsuspecting native animals, put rubbish in the bin, start a compost to reduce the amount of waste that goes into landfill, recycle and reuse where possible, etc, etc. Every little bit we can do will help to protect our animals and the environment. Little Travel Adventures.classes that are active and educational.
07.01.2022 The new dates for NAIDOC week are 8-15 November. The 2020 theme "Always Was, Always Will Be" reminds us that Indigenous Australians have cared for this land for over 65 000 years. 05.01.2022 Today is International Dance Day! I may not be able to visit any preschools at the moment, but I will definitely be dancing with my family at home in the lounge room to celebrate this event! Some tips to get you moving & grooving at home: Put on your favourite song....one of my favourites still is Jennifer Lopezs Lets get loud Pull out some ribbons, scarfs, fans or put spots in the floor. Great for dancing games like musical statues.... Dress up in theme, maybe Eye of the Tiger. Try learning some moves from your favourite video clip. If the kids are too young for Michael Jacksons Thriller, what about Kylie Minigues Locomotion or Go Noodles Maxarena? My daughters favourite video clip is Katy Perrys Roar! Find your old dance concert DVDs, school spectacular performances, wedding videos, or even an old clip of Young Talent Time & dance along. Enjoy reminiscing while creating new memories. This photo certainly brings back some great memories for me, dancing for the Sydney Spirit. Enjoy getting active today and happy international dance day everyone!!!

02.01.2022 The Great Barrier Reef is home to thousands of sea creatures and is the largest coral reef system in the world. Listed as one of the seven natural wonders there’s lots of little things we can do to help protect this beautiful reef. We can reduce, reuse and recycle whenever possible, which in turn will help keep our water ways free of rubbish and reduce the amount of products being manufactured. ... We can compost food scraps which will reduce the amount of landfill. We can minimise our energy use by turning off light switches when not in use, and switching to more energy efficient appliances. And shop for locally sourced produce whenever possible to minimise food transportation and the emissions associated with it. Our holiday activity today is exploring Playdoh Great Barrier Reef style. A fun way to encourage fine motor skills & build up finger strength, which in turn helps with pencil grip. You can also focus on scissor grip and cutting, where the cutting is made easier by using soft playdoh. #littletraveladventures #greatbarrierreef #culturalincursion #preschoolactivities
