09.01.2022 A friend said to me many years ago, "People in this town don't like change." It started me on a journey of questioning and learning. I have heard many say, "I don't like change," and it is considered the norm for many. But we DO like change. We go on holidays to new destinations. We go and get a new hair style, new clothes, change jobs. There are many changes in our lives that we get excited about. It is not change we do not like. It is the things that happen to us that don...'t result in positive emotions that we don't like. But is it what happens to us, or is it how we perceive it. I saw a post the other day about a friend who was driving and on her way to actually purchase a new car. On the way she was rear ended. She was smiling in the photo. Now of course, there may have been some not so pleasant consequences of this, but for her, it wasn't such an issue. If this same thing happened to another person who had just bought a new car, the reaction may be entirely different, but it would depend on the person. We cannot control what happens to us. Many of us believe we can, and that we do, but we are restricted to only being in control of our own thoughts, which of course results in our actions and emotions. It is more than just a positive mindset. It is about embracing change, and accepting that the things that happen to us happen for a reason. We may not know what that reason was, but it presents itself sooner or later, if we choose to see it. It is not all about being positive. It is about accepting that there are things that may happen around us and happen to us, and there is nothing we can do about it. We can only accept what is and create whatever change we can ourselves.

Although consciousness is a crucial part of being human, researchers still don't truly understand where it comes from, and why we have it. https://www.sciencealert.com/human-consciousness-could-be-a
