22.01.2022 I love this quote! Being healthy refers to both your physical and mental health. Make sure you are looking after both! Your body fat percentage and/or weight on the scales does not define you. My experience with bodybuilding competitions: As some of you know I am approaching my last fitness competition (6 days out) and this will be my last competition for the foreseeable future. I have competed in 7 competitions in the past year, my body and mind needs a break. Since I first... decided to compete 1 1/2 years ago) my whole life has revolved around competing. It has been my main priority and has affected my family, friends, relationships, work, etc. It is time for me to enjoy life, focus on some new goals and try some new fitness activities. I will still be training and maintaining a healthy lifestyle however I will be trying to achieve more balance in my life. I do not regret competing it has been one of the best experiences of my life and I have throughly enjoyed it. I placed 4th and 2nd in my first 2 comps, I competed at a national level, I have improved my physique immensely from my first competitions and I have met many great people. I can't wait to be the one watching my friends compete next year. THE GOOD - meeting new people - accomplishing your goals - trying something different - achieving something most people wouldn't be able to - that feeling of having your 5 mins on stage - the hair, tan, makeup - bikini shopping - confidence - feeling/looking lean - looking back on stage photos - proving to everyone that you can do it - opportunities to travel - to motivate you in the gym - cheat meals never tasted so good THE BAD - feeling exhausted all the time; weight sessions, cardio sessions, stretching, posing classes, meal prep, lack of sleep, lack of calories - eating in a calorie deficit for extended period of time - cravings - the mental struggle - only being able to eat what's on your meal plan - not attending social events - constant fear you are not lean enough - no time for anything else - lack of concentration - no one understands what you are going through - not recovering from workouts - clothes don't fit on season or off season - dealing with weight gain post comp - it will cost you $1000's

13.01.2022 LOL! I've had a relaxed weekend in terms of eating and workouts to let my body recover. Tomorrow is Monday and my meals are prepped, ready to hit it hard with 13 days till my next comp. Sometimes a cheat meal can be good to keep you sane and kickstart your metabolism after being in a calorie deficit for a long period of time.
