07.01.2022 A truly great event at Adelaide Oval today but I hope someone asks Roly Poly Andrew Daniels of the SMA why there were NO concessions made to the demographic of the crowd - same old hot chips and pies and just one Indian Cuisine stand - which, guess what, had lines going to it all day. Culturally insensitive and fiscally inept.

03.01.2022 The Illusionists 1903 - Festival Theatre - 5K The Illusionists 1903, the third instalment in this franchise which is riding on the back of the success of the two prior iterations, both which premiered in Australia in 2012 & 2013, again premiering in Australia, takes the audience back to the golden age of magic at the turn of the 20th century, a time when conjurers were the true rock stars of the day, long before the invention of TV & radio and when movies were still in their ...infancy. The set, dressing, costumes and music do a superb job at conveying that the performance is set 100 or so years into the past. The feel of the theme is maintained by the breezy delivery of the acts which include some interesting variations of well known trick. Can the handpicked group of performers, including Rick Thomas as The Immortal, Charlie Frye as The Eccentric, The Daredevil Jonathan Goodwin, Mark Kalin being The Showman, The Conjuress Jinger Leigh, Thommy Ten and Amelie van Tass The Clairvoyants and The Maestro Armando Lucero, pull off another show which leaves the audience wanting more and continue the return of interest in Magic in an audience that is wise to it being just illusions, trickery and sleight of hand? Yes, the delivery had the audience amazed and astonished, at times gripped at the edge of their seats, perplexed and certainly entertained. From the first act through to the second, with a great set for audience participation after the intermission, from start to end, The Illusionists 1903 delivered to the expectation set by it's predecessors. Leaving a gasping audience to come back to terms with reality of the 21st century after an appropriately spectacular finale. The Illusionists 1903 is showing at the Festival Theatre until January 25 and is a very entertaining and mesmerising family friendly show for all, well worth watching. http://www.adelaidefestivalcentre.com.au//the-illusionist/ The Illusionists 1903 https://www.facebook.com/TheIllusionists1903 Kryztoff Rating 5K #TheIllusionists1903 @illusionists03
