Kane was a top bloke, a true family man and would always say ‘hello, how ya goin’, even if you hadn’t seen him for a while. Our small community has lost one of the the good ones and will be forever missed. To Lee and family, all our hearts break for you. 19.01.2022 Due to the current restrictions in place, Kane aka ‘Shinna’ will make one final journey around the Kiewa Sandy Creek Football Ground, Tangambalanga at approx. 12.30 pm, Friday 4th September 2020. This is a place that has held so many great memories for Kane of happy times spent with teammates, friends and family. The family has requested yellow and black balloons be released as the hearse goes past. Please, can we try to obey to the social distancing rules and wear our masks at the oval.

18.01.2022 NETBALL PRE XMAS TRAINING It’s been a long offseason this year and we would love to get everyone together for a few training sessions before Christmas: Monday 7 December 6pm @ netball courts... Monday 14 December 6pm @ netball courts Anyone is welcome to join. These sessions will be a mixture of fitness work and getting a netball in our hands. Please bring a towel, water bottle and exercise mat if you have one. NETBALL PRESEASON 2021 In line with previous seasons we will look to commence our senior pre season training late January 2021 with juniors commencing in February 2021. We will advise dates & times in the new year. Players who were selected for the 2020 season will be considered first for season 2021. Club memberships that have been paid for 2020 will be automatically transferred to the 2021 season. We will also confirm and announce our coaches for 2021 shortly. 16.01.2022 Update for Ben Murphy I’ve been in contact with Bens family and they have asked for an update to be shared. Ben’s currently in an induced coma, in critical but stable condition in the trauma ward at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. I will try to update everyone as soon as I hear from his family or when Bens family asks me to do so. A massive thank you to Becca Jackson for organising the GOFUNDME page. The response has been amazing and our goal of $25k has already been reac...hed. Please remember this is going to be a long road for Ben and his partner, his family and every cent will be of great assistance, so let’s keep this going. Lastly Paul Murphy has asked me to personally thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers for Bens recovery. He will try to get back to all of you in the coming weeks. As we all would understand, it’s been overwhelming for him but he is feeling very blessed by all the love and support for Ben . Ben, Tess and his family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

07.01.2022 Kiewa General Store 2021 Kick for Cash During our upcoming night game vs Tallangatta, we will be holding a Kick for Cash. This event will be at half time of the seniors' football match. Entries will be sold throughout the day. Entries are $5.00 each. ... At half time of the senior football, three random entries will be drawn for their chance to kick from 25m out into a bin to kick for $1000. To be eligible, you must be on site at the time of the draw. Contestant's names announced over the loud speaker and must make their way to the bar within 5 minutes of announcement. Kick for Cash will then take place along the 50m arc at the netball court end of the ground. Contestants will then be permitted one kick with allocated football at bin. Start practicing and Go Hawks

06.01.2022 As a lot of you may of heard one of our senior players has had a tough week. Ben Murphy had a work place accident on Thursday and was flown to Melbourne in a bad way with severe head injuries. Ben has since had a couple operations and is currently in intensive care in an induced coma. I ask we all take a moment and send our love and support to him, his family and his partner during this difficult time. Ben, we are all here thinking of you mate and know you can fight this. There has been a Go Fund Me page set up to help Ben and Tess for now and in the future. I’m sure it’s not going to be an easy one but we are there for you both.
