21.01.2022 I have decided I am going to slowly fade out my Kintsugi page in order to make more time for other things in my life. Managing a page can be hard work and time consuming. At this point, I need to keep it up for evidence reasons. So, I will very rarely be posting on here anymore. It is time to close this chapter of my life and move onto the next. Whatever anyone got from this page, I can only hope it was positive and inspirational. Thank you for staying the course. ... I may look into being able to unpublishing the page but still being allowed to keep it for a little while. Cheers and happy Easter.

21.01.2022 Check out my photo album of this project. It is the before and after of three antique chairs that I restored and reupholstered for a customer who was very happy with the end result. I used the third chair that was missing pieces to it as parts for the other two. I still kept what I didn't use because stripped back it is still wood that is beautiful and can be used.

21.01.2022 Hey Geraldton Folk. I could do with a few extra jobs at the moment. Need something fixed? Take a look at my page to see what I do and have done so far. I'm local only. Love this work so very much. Flick me a message to inquire if I can fix it and please share my post around. Thank you.

19.01.2022 Before and after shots of my last project I finished for a person. Finished today. Will hang door back on tomorrow. It was in an extremely bad condition when I got it. A family heirloom that had been stored away in a shed. No covering on it and just very badly damaged. It was a lot of hard work to get it looking like it is now. Unfortunately, I was dealing with a self involved, obnoxious, holier than thou, toxic and an ungrateful woman which made the project not enjoyable. Not even a thank you. I am glad to be rid of this person. I hope she makes better choices to look after precious things and learns to treat people better.

19.01.2022 To all future customers. It's come to my attention that some people think my backyard workshop, hobby and passion is taken less seriously and with disrespect because it is not an actual shopfront. Let me be very clear here. Just because you are not walking into an actual shop does not mean you won't get a professional experience. I provide my customers with invoices for quotes and receipts when they pay. I undercharge on most of my jobs. I do this because some people do not... have a lot of money and because it's my passion and love to do what I do. I take any job seriously and do what I'm capable of doing to the best of my ability. If you were to walk into an actual shop, I can bet my bottom dollar that you would treat the owners and staff differently. Do not make that mistake with me. I deserve respect and so does my work. The services I offer is also because there is a lack and a need in Geraldton that I'm choosing to offer. If you can't appreciate and respect what I do, please look elsewhere. I will not tolerate disrespectful and rude customers. Thank you.

16.01.2022 Photos to come. New project got dropped off today. A family heirloom, China cabinet. I can't wait to see how it's going to turn out when I'm finished. I'm actually really ill at the moment so laying low until I feel better. I hope soon so I can get back into my workshop.

15.01.2022 Restoring a piece of vintage or antique furniture is beautifully challenging. True vintage and antique furniture was made differently to the way furniture is made today. From my experience, there were certainly more complexities in the way a piece was made. Some furniture restorers like to give an item a more modern look and some want to restore it by just giving it life again. A piece can sometimes be so very damaged, that the only choice is to give it a total makeover. Tha...t means that the piece cannot be restored to it's original state. It also depends on what the owner wants done with the piece as well. With the way i work, I do like to keep a piece as original as possible. Unfortunately it is not always possible as some of the things I would need is not made today. I would really need to hunt down someone else selling a similar item in order to obtain that one piece. I would consider it, depending on the item and importance of it. Otherwise, I would usually either work with the piece I already have to repair it. Repairing isn't easy most of the time. You have to get creative, you have to think before doing it, you have to see if the idea is going to work, and if there are any other potential problems you may run into with other areas of the item. Sometimes the work is slow and methodical. There are processes and they do require hours of waiting for that process to be done. It takes concentration. Safety is important with your tools and minimising injury as a much as possible. I am self taught. There really are no courses and workshops for this. You can do woodworking courses here and there to learn about tools, how to use them, what they do. How to make certain things and so on. There are just no courses or workshops for fixing and restoring vintage or antiques. It is a lifelong learning. Passion and love can take you far.....sometimes. <3 Kintsugi '

15.01.2022 Thank you to all people who have followed me and supported me along this journey with Kintsugi. I am just about to finish my final job. Due to life changes and personal changes, I will no longer be restoring furniture nor taking in any jobs for future clients. I have learnt a great deal over the time I did what I have done I will still be restoring furniture as my hobby, to do at my leisure however. I will post about it here. If you would still like to follow my page, pleas...e feel free. If not, it is OK if you wish to leave. Thank you again for all the support.

14.01.2022 So, I decided to do a video walkthrough of the china cabinet I restored. Much better than a lot of photos and too many words. You can check out the before photos of it if you scroll down the page. Hit play if you are interested. It goes for about 14 minutes. Cheers.

12.01.2022 It has been a hectic week. I'm feeling quite overwhelmed actually. I'd like to just be a human tortoise for a while. I finally got around to taking some pics of the china cabinet I am going to be restoring for a customer. I'm going to rest for the rest of the weekend and start restoring this beautiful piece early next week.

11.01.2022 Started asking up the workshop yesterday afternoon, getting ready to move. I do not have a workshop in my new place. I will figure something out when I am more settled.

10.01.2022 Finally after three goes today, I can show the video walkthrough of the vintage china cabinet. Tried uploading twice through Facebook and opted for you tube the third time. I just did the final touches to the cabinet today. It has been picked up now. I will never know whether she liked it or not, so just got to move on. It goes for just over 14 minutes if you wish to watch it. Cheers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCDBhPt7qdM

10.01.2022 These are facts people, do your research. Fact: To restore a cabinet like the one I am just finishing off now, it would usually cost in between $1000-1500 to get it done. Perhaps even more depending on a few things. Fact. re read my pinned post to see why I did what I used to do with Kintsugi. Then there should be no questions. I owe no one an explanation. You may learn something.... Fact : I am a nice person with a good heart. Do not mistake my kindness for a weakness. I do not tolerate bullies, cowards, toxic people nor abuse. I believe in exposing these people and I do not care for opinions in whether I am in the right or wrong in doing so. Fact: Kintsugi NEVER was a business! Get your head around that. Fact: I am nit a pushover and I rarely lose a battle. REMEMBER these things.
