25.01.2022 Eeeeek !!! If you want to know what it looks like when a child is the instigator of their own learning here it is!!!!!! When I walked into the play area Little Z. Was sticking stickers all over the rhino ( clearly in my mind they were on the office table for admin of their hosptial ) she was then getting the tweezers and taking them off . I asked if the rhino had stickeritis ( she laughed and nodded ) and then got herself dressed up and took the rhino over to the operat...ing table after I explained what it was for. Little Z has been busily caring for the Rhino for almost 20 minutes now, going back to the office to type on the laptop the. Directing her buddy Little T on how to help . While I type this I can see the bandages are out and Rhino is getting all his wounds tended to . I am so happy to see how me changing my perspective on planning is having so many more benefits for the children to be in the moment during their own learning See more

24.01.2022 Play dough provides many learning opportunities. Today we are learning about patterns. I wonder who will be able to make patterns and sequence the cardboard eggs Crate Imagination

23.01.2022 Last week the children got to decide for themselves what we should have in the role play area as they are super-dooper imagination movers ! They chose to have an Animal Hospital but first they needed to help pack up our old play areas ! They worked hard to decide what to keep and re use and what to pack back in the shed then while they were off having their relaxing weekend I would put together a space based on their requests and plans. I’m so excited to see their faces tomorrow

23.01.2022 Woohoo ! It’s puddle suit season again we don’t let the rain stop us. These lightweight suits mean even when the rain stops our play doesn’t have to.

21.01.2022 Happy World Book Day. May your lives be full of imagination and wonder. May you never be too old to believe in the magic of fairytales. May you discover worlds and stories you never knew existed.

14.01.2022 Today we did our bit to Clean up Australia ! We went to our favourite spot where we go for walks and to music and gave it a bit of a tidy! It was lovely to see it wasn’t too littered #sustainablepractices #keepaustraliabeautiful #cleanupaustralia #fdc #myfamilydaycare

14.01.2022 And this is how we get the information to stick

14.01.2022 Mixing colours in the foam and in the water jars . Safe to say this became quite a hit! The children actually ended up taking the foam and adding it to their coloured water jars to make paints I love it when I put out an activity and the children turn it into their own source of learning and creating Bright Futures Children's Services Crate Imagination

03.01.2022 Kaya !! I thought I would pop on over here and introduce myself as I see we have quite a few new followers . My name is Katie and I am the owner of KT Family Daycare . I am the ridiculously proud mamma to 5 amazingly, perfectly- imperfect humans who all seem to be growing up way quicker than I ever anticipated or hoped for. We also have two well loved fur babies who are certain they are daycare kids and expect to join in all the fun I have worked in Early Childhood for al...most all of my adult life with a big break in between gigs while I raised my own babies! At my service I believe it truly takes a village to raise a child and it is my role to support you on your parenting journey whilst I provide a safe, nurturing and loving environment for your child to grow and learn . We love being a part of our wider community and are often out exploring the bush and all that Kwinana has to offer. I love to empower children to challenge themselves and be the instigators of their own learning. See more

02.01.2022 Master 4 was such an instigator of his own learning today. Firstly he discovered that by mixing two colours together he could make a new colour, he continued his learning through trial and error mixing other colours and then painting his hand and letting me know if he was happy or not with thumbs up or thumbs down. Next he took his shoes off to paint his feet then he discovered taking a leaf and painting it to make prints which evolved into him telling me I’m making my own paint! He poured colours into an empty jar then tipped them onto a leaf to see a marbled effect he declared it’s sooooo pretty !! I showed him how to gently move the leaf to spread the paint . He was so patient as he gently followed my instructions to complete his masterpiece.
