22.01.2022 Do you own property in Kastellorizo? The deadline for title registrations is 5/4/2019. Most cases are rather complicated as there were very few properties owned with a valid title, so it requires a process with two local witnesses and a court hearing. #kastellorizo #ktimatologio

19.01.2022 What is the difference between the Cadastre system (Ktimatologio) and the old system supported by the Land Registry Offices (ypothikofilakia)? Briefly, the Cadastre is a system remarkably more contemporary and integrated than the old system of Registrations and Mortgages supported by the Land Registry Offices. By registering properties in the Cadastre, we achieve the full registration of information relating to each and every property individually, combining both spatial and ...legal details. As far as the issue of guaranteeing legal details is concerned, the cadastral database is definitely superior, mainly because its structure is property-centered. This means that it supports searches with the property as the key while at the Land Registry Offices up to now the only available key was the person. As to the technical details, the cadastral database gives citizens access to the spatial features of a property, which are not recorded in any other database today. Furthermore, the Cadastre registers rights that today are not recorded in any database, like usucaption, an informal practice often met in the Greek province. See more

07.01.2022 How do I register a property that I own as a result of inheritance? If the owner of the property is deceased and the heir (or heirs) have not yet formally accepted their inheritance in Greece, then they need to liaise with the local court authorities and attach as evidence to their legitimacy the following documents, depending on the event: In case of an intestate deceased (inheritance without a will):... a) title of ownership (if available), b) death certificate, c) next-of-kin certificate (showing the according implementation of the statute of descent and distribution), d) a certificate showing that indeed, no will was published [within a designated time-frame, thus legitimazing intestacy], e) certificate of non-renunciation of the inheritance, and f) certificate of non-attack of hereditary right. In case of a testate deceased (based on a legal will): a) title of ownership (if available), b) death certificate, c) a copy of the published will, d) certificate of non-publication of a different will, e) certificate of non-renunciation of the inheritance, and f) certificate of non-attack of hereditary right.
