22.01.2022 Hanmadang performed at the Chnese Moon Festival at the Chinatown in Fortitude Valley. Luckily, it did not rain as forecasted. Despite the strong wind, Hanmadang performed SamulNori and PanGoot and it was great to see the audiences enjoyig the performance. photo by Rhett A. Evans

15.01.2022 HI, My name is Joseph, the president of the Korean Traditional Performers Group Hanmadang incorporated. Firstly, I would like to send my warmest congratulations to World Arts & Multi-Culture Inc on the publication of the book. It was a great honour to take part in the writing of this book and sharing my passion for Korean culture through music and dance in Australia. The Korean Traditional Performers Group Hanmadang was founded in 2010 and we do over 20 performances and wor...kshops every year at various schools and multicultural festivals in Queensland. It has not been an easy journey to run the organisation for 10 years, we’ve had our ups and downs, however, I think I was able to come this far with a sense of duty and pride, because there are no other organisations promoting traditional Korean performing arts in Brisbane. Australia is the most successful multicultural society in the world with immigrants from more than 200 countries. I believe cultural exchange is the most effective way to bring people together who have with a different cultural background, language and ideology. Thankfully, the Queensland State Government is encouraging and sponsoring events for such cultural exchanges. Through many multicultural festivals held every year, we can see, feel, understand and communicate with each other. Hanmadang and World Arts and Multi-culture formed a relationship at the Asia Pacific Festival and Brisbane International Arts Festival. I remember it as great festivals where the performers and audience communicated well. This book by World Arts & Multi-Culture combines the world’s beautiful culture, gives us a chance to understand each other better. I would like to express my gratitude to World Arts and Multi-culture as an individual, as a group leader of Hanmadang, and as a citizen of Republic of Korea. I am sure it has not been easy to organise this event whilst in the challenging times of the COVID Pandemic. I salute World Arts and Multi-culture Executives for their hard work. Thank you. 07.01.2022 It was Hanmadang's second year of performing at the SunPAC Summerfest! Hanmadang performed SamulNori and PanGoot :) It was great to perform for such a passionate audience and see other commuunity groups perform too.

05.01.2022 We would like to thank the Overseas Koreans Foundation(Part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) for donating a premium quality (special type of made of Ostrich feathers, used by (the leader gong player in band) to @KTPG Hanmadang Inc. It is truly a privilege to be able to share Korean culture to the local Queenslanders and Korean immigrants here in Australia. This year marks the Hanmadang’s of sharing Korean Culture through music ...and dance. We planned to have the professionals from Korea over for our 10th-anniversary event. However, this had to be cancelled due to COVID-19, resulting in the revocation of the funding or donation from Australian/Korean Government. We would like to thank everyone for all your love and support for Hanmadang for the last 10 years. When the pandemic comes to an end, we hope to start performing and doing workshops again and share the joy of Korean culture! Until then, Stay safe everyone Music: Outside Musician: iksonmusic
