23.01.2022 Another member who had devoted more time to orchids during CIVID19 were well rewarded by her orchids.

22.01.2022 Beautiful flowers benched despite our hot summer with the dry and high temperatures.

19.01.2022 Flowers awarded "Best Of Evening".

18.01.2022 Due to repairs at our usual meeting hall, the next meeting of the Ku-Ring-Gai Orchid society on Monday 20th JANUARY 2020 shall be held at an alternative venue, The WEST PYMBLE WAR MEMORIAL COMMUNITY HALL, Lofberg Road, West Pymble. The hall is located opposite the houses between Grayling Rd and Inverallan Ave. There are parking infront and back of the hall. There are also street parking on Lofbery and Grayling roads. The main meeting shall commence at 8pm. There will be no sales table or culture class this month - our main event will be a 'Plant Doctor' session. Bring along any orchid plants that you have concern, the experts shall assess your plants and provide practical advice.

18.01.2022 The departure of the extremely hot summer weather allows the flowers to flourish and being benched on the tables and admired by all members present and visitors.

18.01.2022 In March, though significant lower number of members attended the monthly meeting, the quality of flowers benched did not disappoint. There were a range of orchids and colours.

13.01.2022 As usual, our sale table and raffle prizes formed part of the attraction in attending our meetings, no exception for this March meeting.

12.01.2022 Meetings from April 2020 to February 2021 were cancelled due to COVID 19. After a long absent, welcoming Christmas 2020 and New Year 2021 are these gorgeous orchids which give a strong vanilla fragrance.

11.01.2022 February meeting was held in the West Lindfield Community Hall after it had a face-lift over the Christmas / New Year period. The culture classroom was available for the ever popular Culture Class. It was presented by Peter demonstrating the preparation of different potting mixes using different sizes of bark and additives to fulfill the orchid plants' requirements to suit his orchid growing environment.

11.01.2022 A big group of orchid lovers gather at our Christmas party in December, enjoying good chats, laughs and a combination of Western and Asian food.

10.01.2022 A member who is an experienced orchid grower contributed these beautiful orchid photos.

06.01.2022 Best of Evening orchids for March comprised of some very pretty flowers including one from a new member who recently joined our society.

05.01.2022 Due to the change of venue, there were less members at our January meeting, however, the plant 'doctors' were inundated with high number of plants for assessment, diagnosis and recommended 'treatments', also gave alternative management plans. There were significant less plants being benched, however, the quality of the orchid flowers were maintained. One that came first in Popular Vote is this beauty, Dendrobium Pixie Princess, which was registered in 1986. Its parents are Den. Pixie Nani and Den. Canaliculaturm, the combination of these two parents gave Den. Pixie Princess, a complex hybrid with breeding going back seven generations and involving seven other species in its make-up. The orchid that came 2nd in the Popular Vote did not have a photo taken.

05.01.2022 Best of the Evening orchids at the Christmas Dinner evening

03.01.2022 There were reduced number of plants benched, with approximately 40 plants giving a lovely display of a variety of orchids.
