I was alongside my husband, Punch Thompson, when he fought for the Land Rights Act. That was for Aangu and for all Aboriginal people across this country. We have a lot of sacred areas around this land, so we hold onto it. It is our home and it has been for generations. We belong to it. It speaks stories. ... Judged by a panel of art specialists, including Tarnanthi Artistic Director Nici Cumpston, the prize is open to Australian artists over the age of eighteen working in two-dimensional media.
