Read their story here: Shellby Power deals in power generation with sales, hire, service, parts and manufacture of gas and diesel generators for the oil and gas, mining, tourism, commercial and government markets. Back in early 2019, we needed to look at other engine manufacturers to assist and reduce risks within our growing business. So, we contacted Kubota.... Soon we were sitting down with the Kubota team to discuss how they could fulfil our needs in the power space. As no other Kubota gas engines were running in the country, we wanted to make sure they could supply the spec we needed. We worked very closely with the Kubota team to ensure we developed an engine to suit our requirements, ordering some engines for trial. Kubota installed multiple engines out in the field, and we were really happy with them. We put the Kubota 3800 out into the coal seam gas fields. We spent a lot of time and effort to get the 3800 series engine right. We took a lot of data during the trial. Japanese Kubota factory engineers visited and verified the data as well as dismantling and inspecting parts of the genset. The results from all our early findings indicated we had an engine that was very capable of doing the job we required of it. Weve now got 8000 plus hours on this unit, and not one shut down or issue. Its proven very reliable, smooth, and quiet, with no oil consumption to date. All oil samples have returned OK. We believe this setup improves the reliability of our genset package, reduces our maintenance and operating costs, andmost importantlygives our customers the reliability they expect from our products.
