25.01.2022 Kudos Gallery is open again today! Join us in an hour, at 12pm today for our live stream exhibition tour! Or book a ticket and drop into the gallery IRL to visit us. Link in bio. @in space one we have Knowledge guidance passage by Oliver Pike @wiradjuriartist99.... Affinity with ones culture can reveal questions and enquiries that can sometimes not be answered. As a proud Wiradjuri, and Ngemba man from country NSW, I have found myself in a situation where all I can do is question my culture in order to understand where the true essence is placed, or displaced. Knowledge Guidance Passage is a series of works that provide a sense of ease to these questionings. Aunty Yvonne, proud La Perouse elder is someone who has guided me along a different path. The path of understanding ones journey in order to depict ones directions. #unsw #arcunsw #arcad #kudos #oliverpike

Through combining traditional Chinese cultural representations with alternative approaches, his practice presents the uncensored version of events, whether they be empowering or disheartening. 03.01.2022 For our first My Brain but not my brain takeover we have Natalie Tso. Natalie is a Hong Kong-Australian artist working on Cammeraygal land. She creates sculptures and self-performances to remember, examine and transmute trauma. Her creative process prioritises bodily memories and sensations. She works with hair, facemasks, threads and clay to translate bodily shock into materiality, re-bodies these materials and reconfigures each performances residues to complete sculptur...es. Tsos art and love practice are two threads that coalesce to mend trauma in order to decolonise internally. This journey alchemises buried trauma to cultivate resilience against fear. Since encounters of pain between objects solidify the boundaries of our skin, art about suffering reshapes intimate and political relationships. Her narratives of injury become political warfare as her healing body, self and artworks redefine healing bodies around her.
