25.01.2022 A very big thank you to Go For Broke and Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury for their very generous donation to Kulnura Rural Fire Brigade. We greatly appreciate all the generous donations made to our brigade, with all the money received used for equipment needed by our volunteer firefighters to protect our communities against fires. Donations come to us locally from our community and abroad, its very heartwarming to see the support for our brigade.

22.01.2022 From fire to flood.... it’s a bit damp at the Dunkirk hotel...

19.01.2022 At the beginning of December last year, Yarramalong Brigade member Tim Eyes was watching over the progress of the Three Mile Fire as it crept down the hill to t...he west of Mangrove Mountain. It was 2 o'clock in the morning and fire fighters were set up to defend the houses on the opposite side of Oyster Shell Creek. If the wind had kept up, the fire would have crossed over and burned rapidly uphill to the houses, with flying embers starting spot fires ahead of the main fire front. Some of the challenges we faced as we were moving into place to defend the properties were locked electric gates, limited access to water points, horses and livestock still in paddocks in the path of the fire, and residents not sure of what they were going to do or where to go. It is not the time for thinking about preparing your property as a fire is approaching. IT IS NOW. Go to: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare/farm-fire-safety See more

16.01.2022 The Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC, commissioned by the NSW RFS, is undertaking research into people’s experiences of the 2019-20 bush fires in NSW. The results of the study will be used to inform strategies to improve community bush fire safety in NSW. If anyone in our local community would like to share their experiences during the fire season last summer please follow the guidance in the attached link or email [email protected]

15.01.2022 We were deeply moved and extremely humbled to be gifted a very generous donation from the local Serbian church. The congregation treated us to a traditional lunch and made us feel like celebrities. This money will be used to purchase essential equipment for the upcoming fire season.
