25.01.2022 In Kumon, worksheets are matched to students current ability. The most advanced students are extended and the least advanced supported. Each makes progress at their own pace, not bound by age and school grade. Today, more than 4.2 million students, in over 55 countries, study Kumon worksheets every day. There are more than 54,000 students studying with Kumon in Australia and New Zealand, each progressing according to ability. ~Toru Kumon~

20.01.2022 ****ATTENTION KUMON FAMILIES**** Dear Kumon Students and Families, An update in light of the Australian Governments Roadmap to a COVIDSafe Australia and announcements by states and territories relating to the easing of social distancing restrictions. ... At Kumon, our first priority remains the health and welfare of all students, parents and staff. Kumon centres will continue to provide worksheets and instructional support to students for home-based study for the months of May and June. Parents can pick up worksheets from the Kumon centre. Kumon Instructors can easily manage communication with families through a variety of electronic means. Procedures at each centre will vary during this period. Physical distancing and hygiene practices will be implemented at all times. Kumon centres will always comply with advice from the Chief Medical/Health Officers and Federal and State governments. We will monitor their advice and review our position as needed. Kumon is traditionally a home-based, pencil-and-paper programme. It is designed for students to study at home every day on their own. It is ideal for extended periods at home. For a short time, every day, no calculator, no keyboard, no screen, no high-speed internet connection necessary. Students take out their worksheets, pick up a pencil, read, think, write, and use an eraser to correct their errors. We hope it is reassuring to know your childs Kumon programme can continue during this period. For families looking to enrol, please contact Maureen on 0414508587. We look forward to welcoming you to Kumon and supporting your child on their learning journey.
20.01.2022 When our students encounter a new problem, concept or challenge, they have a go by themselves first. They study the examples, draw on previous learning and give it a try. They try, and try again, until they are finally able to solve the problem. Students come to expect the challenge of a difficult problem and the joy of discovering something new for themselves. They learn no problem is ever too difficult to attempt to solve.
20.01.2022 Many times what we perceive as an error or failure is actually a gift. And eventually we find that lessons learned from that discouraging experience prove to be of great worth. Richelle E. Goodrich
17.01.2022 At Kumon, we see academic ability as the combination of being able read and acquire information, think critically and to communicate. Students sharpen and hone these three abilities through Kumon Maths and English. These skills will support students to feel empowered during times of uncertainty.

Kumon Australia recognises the First Nations peoples who, for over 65,000 years, have occupied and cared for the land in which we live, and upon which Kumon learning centres and offices sit today.
