25.01.2022 Parents, please read these latest recommendations from the Australian Government Department of Health regarding COVID-19: https://www.health.gov.au//novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-hea 1. People who have been in contact with any confirmed COVID-19 cases must be isolated in their home for 14 days following exposure.... 2. Returned travellers from mainland China must be isolated in their home for 14 days after leaving the country, other than for seeking individual medical care. You do not need to isolate yourself if you have only travelled to Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan. 3. If you have left, or transited through Iran on or after 1 March you must isolate yourself for 14 days from the date of leaving Iran. 4. If you are travelling from South Korea, on or after 5 March, you must isolate yourself for 14 days from the time you left South Korea. 5. If you have returned from or transited through Italy from 11 March, you must self-isolate for 14 days from the time you left Italy. We thank you for assisting us by keeping any children who are unwell away from the Kumon Centre. We expect this will need to continue with staff and students for the foreseeable future. How you can help us: Keep unwell children at home. Send your child to class with their own drink bottle and supplies (pencil and eraser). This morning, we celebrated the accomplishments of our programme completers and our most advanced students at the Advanced Student Forum event in the Perth Town Hall with our guest speaker Dr Craig Challen OAM (Australian of the Year 2019 WA and joint Australian of the Year), who participated in the Tham Luang cave rescue in Thailand. . If the government on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer closes schools to slow the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, Kumon is ready to go to 100 percent home-based study for the duration. ... Kumon will always comply with CMO and government advice. Worksheets are being provided from your centre, so your childs learning is not interrupted. Kumon is traditionally a home-based, pencil and paper programme. It is designed for students to study at home every day on their own. It is ideal for extended periods at home. For a short time, every day, no calculator, no keyboard, no screen, no high-speed internet connection necessary. Students take out their worksheets, pick up a pencil, read, think, write, and use an eraser to correct their errors. Kumon Instructors can effectively manage communication with families through a variety of electronic means. 09.01.2022 Dear Kumon Parents, Please observe the following precautionary measures to ensure the health and wellbeing of children, and staff, in Kumon Education Centres: ... Anyone at high risk of exposure because they have recently visited China, or have been in close contact with someone confirmed with the virus, please do not attend the Centre. Please seek medical advice. A two week monitoring period is currently being advised by government and medical experts. Common symptoms are fever, cough, sore throat and shortness of breath, according to the NSW chief medical officer. As always, any child who is unwell with any condition should not attend class. This is normal practice. Please contact your Centre if you are not attending class to discuss arrangements for receiving worksheets.
