17.01.2022 Kumon Essendon Centre is still open but we are ready for home-based study in the event of school closures Dear Kumon Essendon Students and Families, At Kumon Essendon, our first priority is the health and welfare of all students, staff and parents. ... Kumon Essendon is still open. However, if schools close to slow the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, we are ready to go to home-based study until schools reopen. This is to comply with health authority advice and government regulations. Worksheets can be provided for the duration of the school closures, so your childs learning is not interrupted. Kumon is traditionally a home-based, pencil and paper programme. It is designed for students to study at home every day on their own. It is ideal for extended periods at home. For a short time, every day, no calculator, no keyboard, no screen, no high-speed internet connection necessary. Students take out their worksheets, pick up a pencil, read, think, write, and use an eraser to correct the error. Continued daily worksheet study at home will ensure that disruption to your childs progress and learning is minimised. 14.01.2022 Congratulations to two of our latest programme graduates. Twins Josephine and Michael completed the English programme while we were in lockdown which is a phenomenal achievement. They are now working on completing the Maths programme as well and I have no doubt they will do it - watch this space!

Reading as a habit not only improves your childs confidence in reading..., it also improves their vocabulary, communication and confidence in the classroom. By reading many different kinds of books about p;laced, people, science, politics, science-fiction, etc., your childs imagination and curiosity increases and this helps them dream and form ideas on what they might be when they grow up, or places they would like to visit. In essence, reading can bring a wealth of knowledge and literacy skills. At Kumon, we have our very own recommended reading list for everyone, right from pre-schoolers to adults. These recommended books also correspond to the study levels in the Kumon English Programme.
