23.01.2022 Welcome exploration at home! Constantly focusing on mastery, accomplishment and performance inevitably makes us less tolerant. Let your child meander and follow that "urge to know more". When your child develops an interest a fascination with trains, for instance be patient. Nurture the interest: take them to an exhibit on trains at the museum, or watch movies on the topic. This way, your child can fully indulge in the process of discovery, which is a key element in intellectual and creative development.

19.01.2022 Jakob was performing below grade level in his literacy when he started the Kumon English program in 2019. 12 months on and Jakob is transformed. In addition to Kumon, Jakob has applied himself to his daily reading. His efforts have recently paid off, with him achieving the Kumon International Standard and an award from school for ‘the great effort and work he has produced during remote learning’. His advancement is reflected in both his reading and writing. He has gone u...p a level in his class reading at school, with his teacher praising him for his fluency; and he has made significant gains in his spelling and use of grammar and punctuation. Jakob has also made ground on his attitude to learning, becoming more and more self-motivated and focussed. His academic advancements combined with his more proactive approach to learning have led him to enjoy school work so much more. He takes great pride in his achievements and his parents are equally delighted with his progress.

Or do you want them to see how you find an answer when you don’t know it? The latter teaches a child to enjoy the process of learning and discovery.
