Some of you might remember that Jim and I visited Tube Tube (pronounced toobi toobi) Primary School (Slade Island, Milne Bay Province, PNG) last ye...ar with friends and were saddened to see how few books the school had. We have collected some and have been taking them up regularly to Port Moresby where they then found their way onto the boat (MV Tiata) until eventually they wound their way down the coast until reaching Tube Tube. The kids and teachers were apparently delighted with this shipment. Well - the boat is docked in Cairns for refurbishment for a few weeks so we have an opportunity to reload it. We could really hit it hard this time as it beats Jim and others lugging them to POM first. If you have any books suitable for Primary School children (and stationery) that you do not need and would love to help, can you message me - or drop a line here - and we can work out how I can get them from you to the boat. Please note. Both Edge Hill PO and Cairns Books (Mark) are accepting drop off deliveries. I believe the boat is docked here in Cairns for at least two weeks so we have some time.
