13.01.2022 **Late Post** Before coming to Australia I had never heard about cassowaries (my family or friends either)... It wasn’t until I came to visit this property that I discovered them. Now I feel so privileged to live here and have the opportunity to share them to the world through our business. It amazes me the bad reputation these birds have not only here but internationally. First thing we always hear is they are aggressive, they can kill you but sadly no one ever says ho...w they help keep the rainforest alive or how their existence is being threatened by many factors... BUT that’s part of our job and we love sharing that other side of the story... We hope our visitors share that extra bit with others too.! We acknowledge the amazing job our tour guides do as well as Perry who works tirelessly to in one way or another help keep them safe. We hope cassowaries stick around for million years more and fingers cross we can see offsprings again this year! The photo was taken 4 years ago.
