20.01.2022 What a treat. Edwards Evans supplied me with several photos taken of several Litoria myola posing at just the right height and making a racket to boot when we were out frogging this week to complete this months records for our citizen science project.

17.01.2022 Practical and artistic !

16.01.2022 How are you and your frogs faring in this time of COVID19. Not much rain about to get them calling But we're continuing our monthly monitoring of the Kuranda Tree Frog population. They are randy little devils and while peak breeding time is March, these little guys make up for their small size with persistence in calling almost all year round. Only in the depths of winter do they stop when the temperature dips below 14 degrees overnight, no self respecting north Queenslander... would be out there then either ! And you never know what we see as well. Last month a strongly calling Lacelid male evaded our eyes but attracted this female lacelid , crossing the causeway to get to him. A rare siting in Kuranda. So this is the start of frog monitoring week here in Kuranda. Due to gatherings restrictions we're going in pairs or one and a couple travelling to site in separate cars - no car pooling just for now. If you'd like to go out frogging, please call Cathy on 0419624940. The plan is to go out Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. Please ring so we can arrange a meeting point. See more

11.01.2022 Well with this little bit of rain around the frogs are perking up and starting to call again. So its time for our monthly monitoring visits. We'll be going out on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday this month so bring a torch, closed in shoes, a raincoat just in case, choose your days and ring Cathy on 0419 624 940 to coordinate the evenings meeting place. Here's a beaut photo of real poser of a Kuranda Tree frog, taken by Ed Evans a couple of months back. Even has the frill around his mouth showing !

06.01.2022 Sorry to those of you who missed the frogumentary last weekend with film maker Jack Breedon introducing his movie and answering questions after.
