20.01.2022 This is the story of Wilbur the mini pig. It was a cold night about 7pm when we checked on Fairy Floss to see if she had any piglets yet. Sure enough she had made a beautiful nest of hay surrounded by sticks from the paddock and outstretched with 8 piglets. Underneath the pile was one pure white tiny male 1/3 of the size of his brothers and sisters.He could not walk and was very weak. I picked him up and put him to his mums teat to get that most important colostrum. He had ha...d 3 little feeds then I thought I should leave mum and her babies to rest. I didnt think he would make it honestly but thought best to let nature take its course. In the morning this little pig was nowhere to be found( if baby pigs are sick or not healthy the mother will often reject and remove them ) the 7 piglets where doing fantastic and mum was feeding well so we all went off to work. Joey had to come home at lunch and check up on them, he had the rake and was cleaning the stall and under 50cm of hay in the corner he heard a squeal.He was safe and warm but needing a feed desperately. Off to my work and to the vets to get a checkup and bottle/formula quick smart. I had a good dose of the flu and had a temperature so in my work jacket was the most perfect spot as soon as 2 feeds down this little Creature came to life kicking and squealing ( so much I had to go outside for a walk haha)Knowing joeys sister desperately wanted a pig we knew what we had to do) piglets require only a few ml of milk ,but every hour a massive commitment. Hesitant we waited to call Sammy until that night.......to be continued. See more

So happy theses babys are having so much fun well done Shannon so lovely to have these two go to the same home, its great to have 2 for company as they are very social animals. So pleased with this fantastic home!
