19.01.2022 One of our afternoon programs is revision. This is a great opportunity for students to be able to catch up on missed work so they don't feel so overwhelmed.
19.01.2022 Students are reminded that during Breakfast Club, students have the opportunity to pack a lunch bag for themselves. They are to take one item each from the list that is provided on the shelves within the ESD's office. If you haven't packed a lunch between the times of 7:45am - 8:30am you won't be provided with the opportunity to pack a lunch. You are to place your name on the bag and then placed into the students fridge. Students are to not take other students lunch. The student lunch shelf is the bottom shelf of the fridge.

Thank you to the Soroptomist Mackay KMG Grannies for teaching us sewing skills in 2020. We were able to implement what you taught us today and will do for the rest of the week by creating face masks.

15.01.2022 Students in years 7, 8, 9 are provided with an opportunity to speak with Katrina on a Monday and Thursday from 11:00 am until 11:45 am. Students are given 10 minutes each. This is not for you to skip class. If you need to visit Katrina, your Year Level Coordinator will email Katrina prior to the appointment. Katrina will then respond with - Booking has been confirmed or Booking cannot happen today and will booked for another time and date

13.01.2022 Our turn for school! While all of our students are having the day off, all the staff are at school learning new skills! Looking forward to putting what we learn into practice when we are all back at school on Monday
13.01.2022 COVID19 Update #2 CQU campuses will remain open as usual, unless otherwise advised. Any students or staff going into a classroom or CQU space at either CQU campus will need to wear a mask. Those students who attend the Cert II Infrastructure and Resources will need to see Lisa or Andrew prior to heading out to Ooralea to recieve your face mask. Limited face mask supplies will be available from school but where possible staff and students should supply their own disposable or reusable face masks.
12.01.2022 COVID19 Update #1 If students and staff are unwell they are to stay at home. All staff and students will be washing hands at the beginning of Check In, Session 3 and Session 5. All staff and students will be wiping over workstations at the end of Session 2, Session 4 and Session 6. There is no need to wear a mask whilst at school. However, if you are travelling on public transport, it is encouraged to wear a face mask.... If you are uncomfortable with your student being at school, please contact 48294302 or alternatively, provide the reason when you recieve the daily text message. See more
11.01.2022 Year 11 Exam Reminder On 16th November, 2020, the Year 11 students have a Mathematics exam. If you are going to be away we will need a phone call or text message explaining your reason to being away. If you are sick, we will require a medical certificate. 11.01.2022 Mackay TAFE Trade Centre will be offering a new course for High School students for February 2021. The course RII20115 - Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation is an entry pathway for students that are interested in a Trade area or Mining industry. It is delivered on-campus 1 day a week over 30 weeks and is eligible to students in year 10, 11 and 12.... We will also be offering the opportunity for student to study a White Card Course. Proposed dates: 8th September and 1st December. This will be the 2021 Year 10, 11 and 12 students. If your keen please have a chat with your YLC.

08.01.2022 Students are reminded that mobile phones and other electronic devices should be 'Off and Away' - turned off and away in your bags or on your YLC desk. If any student fails to follow this school rule, staff will instruct you to report to the administration office in which you have a second chance to have your device put away. Non compliance will result in further disciplinary action. Lets work together the #KMGWay and have your mobile phones away. P.S - Students are also reminded that mobile phones are not permitted during the Life Skill Sessions either.

07.01.2022 Happy St Patrick's Day Mel Our school places emphasis on understanding the essential features of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, including our special connection on the land and sea and our commitment to family and community, especially as it pertains to the lives of our students. At the same time we celebrate every KMG family member irrespective of their cultural background.... Below is a little history of St Patrick!!! Saint Patrick's Day (March 17) of St Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, he was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped but returned about 432 to convert the Irish to Christianity. By the time of his death on arch 17, 461, he had established monasteries, churches and schools.
