As messengers of death, crows are given food to avert any ill fate. - Tomorrow is Kukur tika, the day to honour dogs. We will honour our Sashy with treats, tika and flower garlands. - The 3rd day is dedicated to honouring cows and goddess Laxmi. 08.01.2022 Hand made. Made by hands. Handcrafted. I say that a lot about the products Kutumba offers. - What does it mean for a pair of earrings to be genuinely hand made? To me, it means that skills and pride of work have been passed down from generation to generation. It involves the creation of something beautiful forged with simple tools that require focus, attention to detail and a steady hand. It requires time, and a connection between the artisan and the chosen medium. It means ...that the finished product is often imperfect, subtle variances in the same design reflecting the individual that created it. - From my simple sketches over a year ago, silversmith Surya Dai (Surya means Sun and Dai means elder brother in Nepali) created my designs. He didn't use a computer to trace it and laser cut each piece by the thousands. He used his skill and knowledge and simple hand tools to bring the sketch to life. - There is something so astonishingly special about that.
