24.01.2022 Congratulations to Steve and James Taylor on winning their first club pairs today. They beat Gwyn Davies and Brian Johnson 20-16 after being down 12-2. Well done gents, possibly the first father son combination to win the event.

22.01.2022 Hi members, it is with great sadness we let you know that the great man Kerry Hart was laid to rest today. As many have known for some time now Kerry was battling illness for some time now and passed away a few days ago. It must be a horrible time for Scott and the family with the current state of laws and unable to have many friends and family to farewell such an amazing guy. Personally I feel very lucky to have played bowls with Kerry. Kerry played a major part in Kwinana ...winning its way into 1 blue for the first time but was unable to play in that last weekend after having cataract surgery only days before. The memories shared in those competitions as well as seeing how many ouzo and cokes we could drink in a game during the industries cup were some of the highlights. Close mate Winston Ferris and Ron Wilkins along with the rest of us at Kwinana will miss you mate. Rest In Peace mate.

21.01.2022 Well boys and girls. We are back! Stage 3 of the Covid-19 restrictions have just been announced and as of Saturday 6th June venues are allowed to have up to 100 people inside with 2sqm safe distancing and can serve alcohol without food. That means we can now reopen. We have a lot of things to get put into place before we open so we have aimed for our first day back as Friday 12th June. We will also be looking at starting our winter bowls and will let you know more about that as we progress. Tell your friends and family and we will see you Friday 12th for a couple of quiet ones!

20.01.2022 Ladies pennants to start on the 20th of October, with mens Saturday pennants later that week. Thursdays will start the following week.

20.01.2022 Attention all full members Please be sure to get down to the club tonight from 5-7pm or tomorrow from 11am-1pm for voting. There are a lot of positions to be voted on this year and this is your chance to shape the upcoming committee.... See you all there

20.01.2022 Not looking good for the rest of the season

18.01.2022 If you have won a club pairs or better, you are eligible to play in this. Great greens and a great competition.

16.01.2022 Another great preseason carnival by one of Neighboring clubs. Itd be great to see a few teams in from Kwinana again this year. Grab your mates and have a weekend on the green.

16.01.2022 Has anyone got their names in yet?

16.01.2022 Well done Barrie Lester. Awesome that youre doing so much to support a good cause!

14.01.2022 Pretty good ideas in Haileys article here. Worth a read and if you like it, let BWA know or the club officials to pass on to BWA.

14.01.2022 Congratulations to Peter Briggs for playing his 1000 pennant games for Kwinana bowling club today. What an achievement only done by one other in the 60 year history of the club. Well done Peter, we look forward to many more.

13.01.2022 TEAMS FOR THIS WEEK

13.01.2022 The nomination date for the PBA has been pushed out to the end of June, so if youre keen for 2 weekends of bowls in mid-late July, get your names in. The entry puts you into 4 separate competitions (world pairs, world singles, international singles and the Scottish singles). Each one you will play a knock out competition until there are a set number of winners (determined by the number of entries). So it can be a very demanding few days of bowls or a very quick exit. David F...arley was lucky enough to win a trip to the Gold Coast in the world pairs the first time he entered the PBA. If youre interested, let us know and well point you in the right direction.

12.01.2022 Unfortunately the Mallacoota bowling club has been destroyed by fire in north east Victoria. If we have any fundraisers coming up we could possibly help out these guys.

10.01.2022 Good shirt that you could wear in any BA event but pennants and our club championships...

10.01.2022 Bowls finished for the year unfortunately.

10.01.2022 Jimmy, Wayne, Rob Farley, we could play in this if youre interested? This is an open competition to anyone that has won a club fours or better.

10.01.2022 More opportunities to play in state championships. Gee itd be great to see some of our players in them

09.01.2022 Teams for Thursday and Saturday.

08.01.2022 More bad news in the east

08.01.2022 I couldnt encourage our members to enter these competitions enough. These competitions are designed for players like ours and the absolute worst you could do is gain some great experience. Please grab a mate and give it a go!

08.01.2022 Good news for roll ups!

07.01.2022 Get your names in gents! Its a great opportunity to play against others of all abilities.

07.01.2022 What does your local lawn bowls club mean to you? The first lawn bowls club in WA was founded during a meeting at a Perth hotel in 1895. One participant, Thomas... Jackson, was well versed in green preparation and the rules of the game. After a deputation to the then Mayor of Perth, Alexander Forrest by the new club, 2,000 square-metres of land was made available on the Swan River, where Elizabeth Quay is now. A green with a pavilion and a veranda was built, surrounded by a neat picket fence. The Morning Herald described it as "one of the finest bowling greens in Australia, an ornament to the city and an attractive resort for all those interested in the game of bowls." The Club was officially opened in 1896 by Club President and the then WA Premier Sir John Forrest and Lady Forrest (who bowled the first ball). The following year the Sunday Times reported that the sport of lawn bowls in the colony had become so largely patronised, that it was time to form an Association. And so the formation of what is now Bowls WA commenced. Over the years bowling clubs have become important social hubs in suburbs and country towns across Western Australia. The reputation of the lawn bowls club as a safe, welcoming environment remains true. Today there are around 16,000 playing members. From Kununurra in the north to Esperance in the south and all points in between.
