08.01.2022 YOUTH ART AWARDS 2020 SHOWCASE: Category 1: Visual Art 2D Artist: Ana Mendonca, 17... South Coast Baptist College ARTWORK NAME: KIKA I created this artwork with acrylic paint as a memorial for my much-loved dog who suddenly passed away. It expresses the idea of loss and remembrance. Some of the things I learned were the different techniques I used when painting and how I could improve the dog through layering. I used emphasis through contrast by using a dark background while the dog is light. I chose to do this piece because I was inspired to paint about the traumatic experience. I decided to do a realistic painting because it expresses what the dog really looked like through realism. I have not completed a realistic painting before, and I want to improve on this skill These artworks were displayed at Gary Holland Centre from 12 March to 18 March. Congratulations to all the winners! #KICYOUTHARTAWARDS2020
