24.01.2022 Kwinana Rotary Club taken over by ALIENS ! Another Just for Fun night last night during which Chris Oughton organised a Debate. Thanks to the adjudicator, Chris, debaters, Brian, Gen and Greg on the negative team and Bob T, Bob C and John I on the affirmative team who were debating that Aliens are among us. The audience had no difficulty in deciding that indeed ALIENS were among us as the affirmative team produced the evidence.

24.01.2022 With the easing of restrictions on lockdown, a number of members and partners enjoyed some good fellowship last Saturday evening with a Guess Who's Coming to Dinner meal. Several couples acted as hosts, not knowing who was coming to dinner until their allocated guests arrived on their doorstep. A great night was had by all, with everyone appreciating the opportunity to see each other in person after weeks of isolation.

21.01.2022 Happy Australia Day to everyone. Members of the Rotary Club of Kwinana together with family members were out in full force this morning, serving breakfast to the community at the City of Kwinana's Citizenship and Awards Ceremony. Always a great pleasure to participate in this special event for Australia. A special thanks to club members Michael Metcalf and Mike Nella for all their efforts in organising and coordinating this special event.

20.01.2022 The 2020 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp for District 9465 took place this week at Serpentine Camping Centre. This program aims to help develop leadership skills in young people aged 18-25 years. Our club was fortunate enough to be able to sponsor two young local candidates to attend this program. Tiffany Lewis and Kai Best were very worthy participants, and we look forward to hearing more about their experiences at RYLA in the near future.

19.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Kwinana celebrated 50 years of service to the community, both locally and Internationally.

17.01.2022 For the first time in a number of years the Rotary Club of Kwinana is participating in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. We are very proud to support Gilmore College student Cyrus Vince who departed on Friday 17 January to spend twelve months in Switzerland. Cyrus has proved to be an excellent candidate for this program due to his initiative and enthusiasm. We wish him well for the year ahead, and we have every confidence that he will be a wonderful ambassador for Kwinana and for Australian youth in general.

05.01.2022 Like everyone else in our community, the Rotary Club of Kwinana has been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 situation. Hence we are currently unable to conduct our regular meetings and activities. However, in an effort to remain connected we trialled a Zoom meeting tonight, thanks to the efforts of Past President Max Bird. A total of 14 members were in attendance, with all agreeing that we should continue this style of meeting for the time being. Great to see so many folks again!

04.01.2022 Australia Day 2021: Reflect. Respect. Celebrate. A very busy but rewarding morning as the Rotary Club of Kwinana had the pleasure of hosting Australia Day celebrations at Calista Oval. Members and partners were busy from 6am onwards with set-up, preparation and serving of free breakfast to the community, car marshalling, and other duties. Our very own Kim Beciri did a fine job as MC for the event. After a 'Welcome to Country' address by local Noongar elder Charlie Kickett..., valued club member Barry Winmar provided a traditional play of the didgeridoo. Following this, entertainment was provided by local cultural groups, including belly dancers and Ngaru Pou. A special mention goes to music man Joseph for providing such wonderful background music to enhance the general ambience of the occasion. It was a great pleasure to see MP Roger Cook and our Mayor Carol Adams taking time out from their busy schedules to attend the event. A huge thanks and congratulations to President John Iriks, members, and partners for all their efforts towards today's event.

02.01.2022 A very warm welcome to our newest member, Veronica Burns. Inducted at our recent Christmas Meeting. Pictured here with Kwinana President Wendy Cooper and VP Stephen Castelli.

02.01.2022 President Wendy Cooper with our guest speakers from last Monday night's meeting. Gilmore College Chaplain Linda Liddelow, together with Senior Sergeant Anthony Thompson, spoke to us about an organisation known as "Life is a Sport". This independent not-for-profit organisation was formed early in 2019, and aims to teach positive life skills to children in Kwinana through provision of funding to enable them to participate in sports activities.
