24.01.2022 Who got a new boat for Christmas?? Here are some basic steps we can all take to have a safer and secure boating experience this holiday season. Record all d...etails of your boat and equipment. Engrave any valuable items with your drivers licence number. Mark your boat with an identifying feature. Fit an anti-theft device to your trailer. Fit a quality lock to your boat. Remove valuable items from your boat when you leave it unattended. If you are leaving your vehicle parked on shore while you are boating, please make certain that you leave NO valuables behind and that you secure your vehicle properly. Consider fitting a quality alarm to your boat. Don't leave alcohol on your vessel. Do not leave keys on your boat. Take them with you. Matt

15.01.2022 ***SCAM ALERT*** We have received reports about a Facebook Messenger scam doing the rounds right now that will potentially trick victims into providing personal... information or be affected by malware and other dangerous cyber threats. When the victim clicks on the link to the video they will be redirected to a spoofing page that requires the victim to enter log in details for Facebook or other online accounts. The aim of this scam is to obtain sensitive data or install malware on the device. HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF: Do not click on the links received in random messages. 09.01.2022 Incident Areas on Emergency WA can give you an indication of where the fire has been. While we update them as often as possible, they are not a real time repres...entation of current fire activity and shouldn’t be what you base your decisions on. The red, yellow and blue warning areas are updated regularly, based on information directly from the Incident Controller on the ground. If you find yourself in one of these areas, the warnings will provide you with the information you need to stay safe. Even in milder conditions than what we’ve seen this week, bushfires move fast and ember attack can put you at risk from several kilometres away. You may not smell smoke or see flames. Your safest option is always to leave early. Stay informed at www.emergency.wa.gov.au DFES Incident Photographer Evan Collis

07.01.2022 Strike Force Vulcan detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding several current bushfires burning across the metropolitan region. Poli...ce urge anyone with information to come forward with any information to help protect your community from the devastation that deliberately lit bushfires can cause. Bushfire arson is a serious offence and in Western Australia the maximum penalty is 20 years imprisonment. You will never know if police are watching until it’s too late. If you light a fire in bushland, you risk going to jail for 20 years. Deliberate fires place an enormous financial burden on the community and on both local and state governments. Bushfires have the potential to kill and injure people and animals, destroy homes and animal habitats with long lasting ramifications. All Western Australians are urged to prepare their home and property for bushfires. For more information on this and on current fires, visit emergency.wa.gov.au In a life threatening emergency, including where smoke can be seen in bushland areas, call 000. To report suspicious activity call 131 444. Anyone with information regarding bushfires and arsonists is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.

05.01.2022 Karl Dunkin is a frontline healthcare worker who did his own research and decided to get the Covid vaccine. This is what his wife, Jennifer, wants you to know... about their experience... The last 8 days have been incredibly challenging. I had little interest in sharing the details of our lives publicly but through our experience is has become clear that information to help those suffering from the Covid Vaccine is minimal. Public groups to share experiences with the vaccine have been actively deleting posts describing my husbands experience as it doesn’t follow the message they want you to hear. Before jumping in, I’d like clarify that my husband is a frontline worker in healthcare and has been serving his community in various ways for 10+ years. I’d also like to say thank you to every single individual who has reached out to my husband and I to offer comfort and support. We appreciate you. On December 26th my husband received the Moderna Covid Vaccine. Shortly after, he developed a slight fever and general exhaustion. The following day came with incredible challenges that resulted in my husband being bed ridden. Whole body exhaustion, incredibly high fevers, chills, headaches, nausea. He could barley pick his arm up... Enter Monday, 12/28. On 1,000mg of Tylenol and 800mg of Motrin (ibuprofen) he was throwing temperatures higher than 104. I brought him to a local emergency room where he was told to treat his symptoms like Covid until proven otherwise... they gave him IV fluids and sent him on his way... While waiting for his ultimately negative results (he does not have Covid) I called numerous urgent care centers who refused to see him, on-call doctors for ECHN who refused to provide medical advice over the phone to an ECHN patient (isn’t that their job?! Said doctor also informed me 104 fevers were not dangerous and the ice packs and cold cloths we were placing on his body were only going to make me feel better and won’t do anything for him.) We were left alone with minimal guidance from professionals in the field my husband has been working in for over a decade... You may be thinking, why didn’t you call the vaccine hotline? We did. It was our first call. They picked up and said to report symptoms online for tracking purposes and then hung up. There was no guidance for treatment, no recommendations for who to seek help from... nothing more than I hope you feel better. Fast forward a bit. Symptoms continued to worsen and I ultimately brought him to a privately held highly regarded emergency room in Hartford CT for further care. Without sharing specifics, I’ll share that my husband was and continues to be so incredibly ill, the hospital has been testing every potential cause for his symptoms which has included 20+ tests and counting: - Countless X-rays, - Multiple Ultrasounds, - Spinal taps for meningitis, and - Regular ongoing blood work for blood bacteria, to name a few. Doctors and nurses from Infectious Disease have been consulting with each other to try and best identify potential trial treatments to see what works and what doesn’t. For now, he’s been given anti-bacterial medication in an attempt to relieve his symptoms. My husband after four days still remains in the hands of caring, interested and well researched professionals who are the ONLY professionals who have taken a general interest in helping, researching and trying. At the end of the day, I am beyond thankful for this privately held highly regarded Hartford based hospital but am very concerned about how little is being shared in regards to Covid vaccine symptoms and their severity. Two days ago I saw a big push to get the vaccine on the news with a tempting promise of a normal fall if we all get vaccinated... please take our experiences into consideration as you decide what is best for you and your family. And if you’ve taken some time out of your day to read through this, please SHARE. There is little information available for those suffering. And if for any reason you become increasingly ill, please seek help from the best hospital you can as soon as you can. If you have any questions regarding my husband, his experience or mine, please reach out. I want you to be armed with information about ALL side effects from the vaccine so you can make the best decisions for you and your families. With every wish that you and yours stay safe and well, Jen.

02.01.2022 SCAM ALERT It is a bit of a long post, but please read through and ensure you Share it to your family and friends. Tell your elderly relatives as well as they m...ay be more vulnerable to this type of scam. Even after previous advice about this type of scam, we are still getting complaints from the public who are receiving calls from scammers claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office, stating for example, that they have not paid enough tax and will now be arrested for Tax Evasion. If the person falls for the initial part of the scam, they may then receive a telephone call that displays a cloned local police station number such as Wembley Police 9214 7100 or Perth Police 9422 7111. The scammers will then state they are a Police Officer from that station and confirm that there is a Warrant for that persons arrest and that they must comply with the ATO directions and make payment ASAP. The person may then receive a third telephone call from the scammer who now requests payment through the purchase of Bitcoin or Gift Cards such as Woolworths, Coles, iTunes, Google Play etc. Government Departments will never cold call you and make demands for payment, especially payment to be made through the purchase of Gift Cards. Do not become a Gift Card scam victim, never give out your details, just hang up the phone and block the number.
