13.01.2022 2019/2020 Locantro racing season review lets be honest the circumstance surrounding this years season have been out of everyones control and now that all the ...histearia has past we would like to take some time to reflect back on what has been a season that wont be forgot about for years to come. Round 1. The Goldenstate Titles After coming back from a dream championship performance win the previous season the locantro racing team came into the season with some slight nerves knowing that everyone has reset back to 0 and during the week leading up to the event we had torqued it up in our news article https://www.andra.com.au/locantro-looking-for-back-to-back- As the results showed yet again that we are in titled to speak our mind in regards to our teams performances by proving that we mean business with winning our second andra tree with a back to back goldenstates win and the 50% bonus points. Round 2. We came out with some good times for the cam specs that we had in the engine at the time running in the coincident 9.6s and 9.7s but unfortunately we were not able to pick up the win at this event but still leaving with the championship lead. Round 3. Now this event was the biggest learning of my whole career as a drag racer we wont get into detail as I have chosen to accept the result handed to us by Murray occonner but that isnt to say that I agree with it all. I am not one to lie but at this stage a lot of things were starting to get on my nerves with engine dramas and being treated unfairly as a racing competitor. Anyway we left the event with a broken engine and tie for top spot in the championship unfortunately after this event the off track battles began and without much understanding about andra tribunal prosegresaccording to the rule book Im now suspended for 3 months of completion. As everyone knows we have sponsors on the car that we could not disappoint so we decided to put supercharged outlaws racer Darryl Mullins in the car to get licensed up so that we can still compete at the western national. After working tirelessly on the kwinina performance dragster to have it ready to race at the westernnats 2 days before the event I revived a call from Brett Stevens saying that we can not compete at this event as my membership is due after qualifying day of the western nats and as the log book of the vehicle is in my name and i am currently under suspension means we cant compete so its was all over. After dropping down to 6th spot on the championship ladder thats wend covid 19 hit and unfortunately put an end to everyones season. Congratulations to nick panagopoulos on winning his first modified championship in his first full season in modified having come over from super sedan, I have a lot of respect of nick as I have never had a problem with him or his team at the race track his crew are great people and as a racer iv raced in super sedan before and found it hard just to get past the first round nick was runner up for the championship in supper sedan twice before coming over to modified thats massive respect as from a drivers perspective congratulations team Locantro Racing would like to thank all of our sponsors and crew that have stuck by us during these times its has been much appreciated thanks you all. So what are our plans for next season well basically Im not paying a ridiculous fine just to be able to race again so iv decided to put Casey in the drivers seat next season just to have some fun at the track as a family on the weekends from all of the locantro racing team we wish everyone stays safe and we will see use all next season
