04.01.2022 DAY 12 - Kyoto to Tokyo. We were so lucky to spend the day with Yuto and Komi, our Japanese exchange students from last year. Also Tomoko Izukune, JJ and Emily shared the afternoon with us. There were many laughs and hugs and tears when we said farewell. Today we went to Meiji Shrine and we were lucky enough to see a wedding procession. In the hip town of Harajuku we shopped and checked out the varied sub-cultures of modern Japan. We could not leave without experiencing the crazy themed Kawaii Monster cafe. Everything was so cute and Alex as the star of the show was even cuter! Finally, the day ended with neon lights of Shinjuku and the statue of the ever faithful dog Hachiko.
