Whilst you might not ever be able to (nor need or want to) do the splits like this, she will be able to help you do amazing things with your body too

24.01.2022 Considering the use of dumbbells. Often is the case that our Trainers will encourage you to pick up a heavier set of dumbbells for some exercises and a lighter set of dumbbells for others! When selecting your heavier dumbbells, keep in mind that you are strong, and we know that you are strong because you workout at KX Pilates, but also, because of the springs we ask you to use for specific exercises ... For example. In our Beginner Classes, we recommend the Blue spring for upper body front work. The Blue spring on our Reformers can weigh 15kg (or 7.5kg per arm when using both arms) In our Intermediate Classes, we recommend the Red and Yellow springs for upper body front work. The Red and Yellow springs together on our Reformers can weigh 31kg (or 15.5kg per arm when using both arms) When you consider that (and in making allowances for different areas of focus), you can easily use more than the 3kg, 4kg and 5kg dumbbells for a majority of exercises - and for a majority of exercises, and a lot of reasons, heavier dumbbells are better

23.01.2022 During this afternoon’s (Friday Nov, 13) SA Health COVID-19 Update, SA Chief Public Health Officer Professor, Nicola Spurrier, discussed her recommendations for the use of Fans in fitness facilities. A subsequent announcement was made by Fitness Australia - The Peak Fitness Industry Association of Australia - which confirmed It is recommended that fans are used only when necessary and that an increased density requirement of at least 4m2 is observed whilst fans are in use. ...We are happy to advise that our KX Pilates Studios at Norwood, Unley, Magill and Mile End more than adequately comply with the recommendations of SA Chief Public Health Officer Professor, Nicola Spurrier and Fitness Australia, and that the use of Fans in these studios will recommence in the lead up to Summer. 21.01.2022 EDUCATION: That (so good) burning sensation in our bodies During your KX Pilates workout, you will feel a burning sensation in your muscles. Whilst initially unnerving, this sensation is neither harmful nor to be of concern - in fact, you almost want to welcome it in with a smile But what it is? This sensation is caused by a chemical in our bodies called Lactic Acid, or Lactate.... Anaerobic Exercises - or exercise in which you're not gasping for oxygen, like some of our KX Pilates exercises - tend to produce a burning sensation in our muscles as they work towards fatigue. A chemical produced by our bodies - Lactic Acid causes this burning sensation. Lactic Acid, or lactate, is the chemical byproduct of our bodies creating energy by using the fuel in our cells anaerobically (or without oxygen) Lactic Acid isn't a bad thing, nor it is harmful to our bodies. In fact, it's natural, normal, and very much, OK. If this burning sensation becomes too much, rest, take a few breathes, and get back into it. The KX Pilates burn is your friend; welcome it with a smile

17.01.2022 Have you had a crack yet with Kirstie? She is new around here, but she comes with a few tricks up her sleeve! Check out this more recent feedback from one of our clients about their experience with her Kirstie was honestly one of the best trainers I’ve had so far!! She was so engaging and learnt everyone’s names straight away, which I feel gives it a personal touch and makes it feel less like you’re in a class. ... All the exercise we did we so different to what we’ve been doing recently and were honestly just heaps of fun. I will continue to do classes with Kirstie because I honestly can’t fault her!! If I buy a pack, when does it expire?... A. Technically 60 days from purchase date (but extension can be applied as per usual within reason) Q. Can I buy more than one pack? A. Yes, you can. Once you have purchased a pack, wait for the app the refresh, and then buy another. Q. How many packs do you recommend? A. On average, KX Clients attend 3-4 classes per week.
