23.01.2022 A big thank you to our landcare member Chris and community volunteer Matthew for helping out with our tyre run. We place tyres over our young trees to protect them from the elements and pesky rabbits. Today we put tyres over approximately 200 trees and we still have around 150 to go, if anyone has an hour free next week to lend a hand send a message so we can organise a time to head down

18.01.2022 We would like to invite the public down to our official opening of the Grey Box Reserve on the 26th of November at 2pm. If you're lucky enough you may see some pardalotes nesting in the small tree hollows like our landcare member Neville has pictured bellow. This is an opportunity for the public to visit the Grey Box Reserve and our new interpretive trail that landcare members have been working hard to complete.
17.01.2022 The wattles have really turned it on this week for our upcoming wattle day THIS SUNDAY. So remember to bring dad down with a scrumptious picnic and enjoy this beautiful weather. #kyabramurbanlandcare #landcare #connectingwithnature #wattleday #acacia #nativespecies
17.01.2022 Look at these stunning yellow wattles putting themselves on show at our Ern Miles Reserve. Here’s what we think the species are: Acacia fimbriata, A. hakeoides, A. acinacea, A. dealbata and A pycnantha. ... Due to the dry summer period we have seen flowering in our wattles a little earlier this season. Have you seen any changes in your flowering plants this year? We’d love to hear about it.
14.01.2022 It's that time of year again, you may have noticed that the wattles are beginning to flower. Well the best place in town to see the wattles flowering is the Earn Miles Reserve on South Boundary Rd in Kyabram. On the 3rd of September the Kyabram Urban Landcare Group will be holding their annual wattle day so why not come down and take a look. Why not bring dad down for a lovely picnic? There will be signs indicating where on South Boundary Rd the Earn Miles Reserve is located.... We would also like to let the community know that the Earn Miles reserve is always open for visitors, just shut the gate on departure. #connectwithnature #landcare #Kyabramurbanlandcare #Wattles #GoulburnValley #ShireofCampaspe #earnmilesreserve
13.01.2022 Who wants to know about the mysterious platypus? Kyabram fauna park is having an information session about the platypus in our region, so why not come along and bring the family along to share some facts about this native species.
11.01.2022 Have you noticed lately we’ve had some large storms around Kyabram? The Ern Miles reserve was hit pretty hard during these storms with lots of large branches coming down. Although large branches coming down can look messy to us it can be really important for critters of all sizes. ... Where the branch has broken from will form a hollow that critters can nest in and branches on the ground offer a refuge for ground dwelling animals. Can you think of any animals that use hollows?
06.01.2022 What a wonderful sneak peak, how good do our informative signs look! We would like to remind members of the public that we have the opening of our Grey Box Reserve this Sunday at 2pm. Please get back to us for catering reasons and share this great picture with your networks.
03.01.2022 We would love to thank the community for coming down to our Grey Box Reserve opening last Sunday especially Adrian Weston for doing the honors and opening the reserve for us. The weather really turned it on and it was a beautiful afternoon, here are some special moments that we caught along the way. Feel free to tag people you may know.... We would also like to remind people that all 3 of our sites are open to the public everyday and we encourage you to use these reserves. #kyabramurbanlandcare #kyabramcommunity #landcarevictoria #interpretivetrail #community #workingtogether #nature #revegetation
