23.01.2022 Easter is around the corner and that means Chocolate ... lots of Chocolate! But Chocolate can be fatal to dogs. At best, it is incredibly toxic and can cause extreme illness. Dogs don’t always know what's good for them and will gobble down any chocolate left in their reach. If you think your dog has eaten chocolate, call your Fur Life Vet immediately.

18.01.2022 Heading out for a walk with your dog? Be sure to avoid areas with high pollen plants. Pollen levels tend to be very high early in the morning and on warm days. Plan out your daily walks ahead of time, so you and your dog stay sniffle free this spring!

13.01.2022 The adventures of Matilda!! This total teddy bear visited us today and only stopped exploring long enough for snuggles with the vet!! She was an absolute doll! Her favourite spot was definitely the consult room chair Matilda is a fabulous example of how a well-socialized pet can enjoy a visit to the clinic if they’re expecting a good time rather than pain or fear We do our utmost behind the scenes to ensure your pet has a comfortable visit with us, but the responsibilit...y goes way beyond what we do here! It’s often very difficult for us to calm down an already anxious dog. We ALWAYS welcome you to bring your furry friends in for a regular social visit and a treat so that they get used to the idea that the vet is fun, not scary! Our puppy preschool graduates are another excellent this example of this - our staff can usually tell who is familiar with the clinic from the moment they trot in! Similarly, regularly desensitizing difficult areas at home such as feet, eyes and mouth can help make your pets visit that much more relaxed. This is best started in early development as a puppy but can definitely be worked on throughout a dog’s life! See more
13.01.2022 Is your pet constantly itching, licking, biting, or rubbing? The sooner we settle the itch, the less likely your pet is to cause trauma to their skin and secondary infections. Book an appointment with your Fur Life Vet today!

09.01.2022 It’s almost Easter!...... Gross post warning!! Jessie gave us a timely reminder to be careful with your dogs around chocolate. Jessie broke into her house and ate half a 20 pack of Easter eggs! Luckily her owner is also one of our fabulous vets and was able to induce vomiting and give her the treatment she needed. ... On a side note, Jessie’s owner said it might be hot cross buns only this year...for the humans of course!
