25.01.2022 This is a passion project that has been on the boil for a while. If you wish we could all get along better with those we disagree with, and disagree with more nuance and decency - follow Fearless Curious and come to our launch event!
25.01.2022 And you thought this year's NBA Playoffs were a massacre...report for ABC News's The World Today voiced by me, but very much the work of my colleague Tim Brunero.
25.01.2022 Has Channel Ten been saved? Spoke with a former co-owner about whether CBS has rescued the home of MasterChef (and that show about the single women hurling themselves at a bloke)

20.01.2022 My take on ex-Breitbart editor Steve Bannons latest run ins - looks like hes enjoying ticking off both sides of American politics. And President Donald J. Trump hands out his Fake News Awards (heres Voxs summary: https://www.vox.com//168/trumps-fake-news-awards-annotated)
20.01.2022 Want to see me do a backflip? A few months ago, I wrote this op ed (http://www.news.com.au//n/924ec24dc29831d70a4f2836e4d91e2b) complaining about the apparent lack of Asians in a retelling/reboot of the ancient Chinese fable that inspired the old Monkey Magic series from the '80s. The new series is finally being released, I've watched a few episodes, and the ABC brought me in to get my thoughts...
19.01.2022 I chat with Andrew and Miriam on ABC News Weekend Breakfast on the way forward post-same sex marriage, underwhelming Amazon and millennial vs boomer attitudes to socialism.

19.01.2022 Is the Gillette ad unfair to men and masculinity in the same way as stereotypes about any ethnic or other identity group? A bit of my News Breakfast chat with Jo and Nick
19.01.2022 It's an early Easter miracle: my podcast on the thornier aspects of race, multiculturalism and political correctness is up on Apple podcast! Pilot episode with Youtube giant Eddie Woo on Asian discipline, racism at school and the importance for migrants and "Aussies" alike to get out of our echo chambers. Thanks Jeffery Wang for lining it up, Gary Pinto for the music, Joe Lee for help with the stings.

15.01.2022 62 prominent Catholics including academics, theologians and priests have criticised Pope Francis for allegedly spreading heresy about civilly divorced and remarried Catholics, but there are broader issues at play.
15.01.2022 Co-wrote this story about Australias bruising same sex marriage debate.
15.01.2022 Pretty obvious none of us can get remotely close to the magical fuel efficiency numbers our cars advertise - should it matter? My ABC News radio piece featuring Australian Automobile Association, ClimateWorks Australia and CHOICE
14.01.2022 You've heard the claims about Christians dying out in the Middle East, falling Western populations and Europe becoming Islamic. Which are true ?
14.01.2022 We've got our panel for our special Lunar New Year edition of Fearless Curious: Chinese perspectives on Western controversies. Absolutely everybody welcome, not just Chinese Australians!
13.01.2022 Free tonight? Last chance to buy tix (dinner and drinks inc) and join my guest Marc Fennell and I discussing our different ideas and opinions in a very different tone to Q&A (including whether or not the outrage we saw there has its place in public discourse). https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/fearless-curious-is-the-med

12.01.2022 It's been over over two years since I left Fairfax. By my departure we had gone from occupying five floors at the time of my arrival four years prior, to just two (and one floor was half meeting rooms!). I arrived in the middle of a round of redundancies, left as part of one, and witnessed a satck of them in between. Despite the stress, scrambling to pick up other rounds that came with regular mass departures and occasional griping, I always admired my Financial Review colle...agues' dedication to putting out great business journalism (even as I was nagging them to do videos!). Print journalists are a different breed to we broadcast-first types (who also work bloody hard). Writers get very little day-to-day personal recognition other than their name on a page and if they're lucky, a gussied up mug shot. They usually hate being famous. In short, they do it because of their pride in doing great business journalism. In the Clickbait Age, new media is ascending at the expense of traditional brands like Fairfax. It's often because they are increasingly opinionated and aggressive, and you also can't pretend Fairfax has been immune from that influence. But as I told my Fin colleagues when I left, I am confident that quality business journalism will survive, because there is no room for hot takes and bias with an audience who are relying on your expert reporting and analysis to decide how they will invest and spend their hard-earned. The folks at Nine would no doubt know that as good as they are, their skill sets are wildly unsuited to doing what an AFR rounds reporter does. And that's why I hope and trust that the very best of Fairfax will survive into the future. I am so proud to have worked there.

08.01.2022 Normally I keep my Facebook page for my own work, but really enjoyed this swansong piece by Adam Harvey, who I've worked with at Sky News Australia and briefly at Foreign Correspondent.

05.01.2022 How do we rid ourselves of the suspicion and hate that can lead someone to commit an atrocity like this? Everyone is numbed and sickened by this tragedy, as we are after every mass killing by a terrorist or disturbed loner (and those who are all of those). We've all seen the posts this week from friends and journalists believe in an adversarial "fight hate with hate" and "be intolerant of intolerance" approach. They support condemning, firing, de-platforming and encouraging v...Continue reading
05.01.2022 My chat with Nick Dole and Jo Nicholson about why religious schools may push for exemptions to anti-discrimination laws around same sex attracted students, an Aussie law firm facing claims of overworking grads and a new survey showing Americansof all identities are fed up with political correctness.
05.01.2022 Police drag away Yes at Sydney University and Brisbane parishes, arrest No supporter who allegedly attacked Kevin Rudd's godson - the same-sex marriage debate takes a physical turn.

02.01.2022 ASIC is meant to keep our banks honest, but ex-regulator Graeme Samuel told me they should focus on busting wrongdoers than swanning around international conferences.

01.01.2022 Excited about this next one. Ever wondered what Chinese Aussies think about some of our biggest controversies (including China itself)? All welcome (definitely not just Chinese!)
