25.01.2022 Hi all, we’re expecting another gorgeous boy early 2020 so I’ll be on Maternity Leave. I do hope you are able to find someone to help you with your alterations. Ky

25.01.2022 Ive had a lot of enquiries about outdoor cushion covers so just putting up some standard prices. Feel free to still contact me for a personalised quote but this should give you a rough idea for your planning.

25.01.2022 Some bling over the shoulder #beading #beadedembroidery #jazzup

25.01.2022 White. Crisp, refreshing and lovely #white #whitefabric #whitelace #seed #seedfashion

24.01.2022 Gorgeous fabric for these 3 large cushion covers

24.01.2022 Another batch of 12 piped outdoor cushion covers in honeycomb grey water resistant fabric with some additional throw cushions. I always love to see them all ironed, folded and ready to go.

24.01.2022 Alterations to formal and wedding dresses often requires lace and beading details to be re-worked and replaced once the base fabric sewing is completed. This formal dress needed the shoulders taken up/shortened and bodice area taken in so now the beads go back on to complete the changes. #dressalterations #handbeading #beadedbodice #formaldressalterations

23.01.2022 Blue bunting for baby shower and room #bunting #babyshower #boysroomdecor #babyboy #nursery #boysroom

23.01.2022 Sorted out my zips today. Nails in a wooden coat hanger works pretty well. Now for another one for the invisible zips.

21.01.2022 Bunny ears, round the garden and into the hole. My little boy is up to learning to tie his shoe laces so a new page in quiet fabric book is a pair of shoes. #fabricbook #quietplay #quietbook

21.01.2022 ‘Surgery’ on this little monkey teddy today. Unfortunately the dog got to this favourite toy so I’ve patched up some new eyes and I hope it gets heaps more love from them. Swipe to last pic for original condition and it also had a few holes over the body as well. #toyrepair #teddyrepair #doggottheteddy

21.01.2022 Getting into some embroidery #wildflowers #embroidery #handembroidery #dmcthreads #dmcembroidery

20.01.2022 Back making some face masks. Pretty florals for some girls and plain block colours for some men. #facemasks #prettymasks #cottonmasks #handmade

19.01.2022 Gotta love contrasting piping. These bolster cushions were custom made for a daybed using water resistant fabric from #faboutdoorfabrics #piping #pipedcushions

19.01.2022 A little wild flower garden

19.01.2022 A gorgeous young lady heading off to her school formal. It was a pleasure to help her alter her dress for a better fit. I took up the shoulders rest itching the beads, adjusted the split height and hemmed the satin and 13.8m of tulle skirt. Thanks for the picture!

19.01.2022 While it takes a bit more time, adding piping to a seam can definitely be very appealing. Personally I believe a contrasting colour looks great rather than matching so for this grey cushion I went for a white linen binding. You can get pre-made bias binding and piping binding but its fairly simple to pickup after a few turns. @made_everyday has a simple and helpful tutorial on YouTube if you want instructions. I find ironing the binding out flat helps and I pin the first 10cm just to get myself started and then fold as I sew with a zipper or piping foot.

19.01.2022 Miles and miles of curtain hems today

18.01.2022 A new personalised Christmas stocking for a special little man. #christmasstocking #christmasstockings

18.01.2022 Ottoman recovered ready for some relaxing. I top stitch on the seams to add extra strength...and also it looks much better I think. This one was originally covered in old leather and needed staples in the base and timber legs re-attached once the fabric component was finished. My little boys enjoyed doing some hard work with the hammer, drill and staple gun out.

18.01.2022 Currently my work has been quite different. 80% of my workload is usually formal apparel & bridal/wedding but that has reduced to 10% and instead my workload largely exists in home furnishings and cushion/chair covers. I am grateful to still have work and am enjoying a change for now but I look forward to getting back into altering some outfits for weddings and parties as they come back into everyones schedules. This is an ivory lace wedding dress for a lovely bride which I completed a year ago. New satin ribbon edged tulle sleeve on this beaded lace dress. This was a strapless dress but now has some elegantly draped sleeves for more cover and support up top. It looks stunning on the bride and Im always pleased with a happy customer. Always a pleasure to play a small part in such an important day for these ones lives.

16.01.2022 Some face masks heading off to a nurse in Melbourne. These are made from 100% cotton and I used bias piping on the top edge for decoration but it also hides the seam opening for turning inside out and also easily holds the wire nose shaper (I used a pipe cleaner). If you dont want elastic on the ears then continuing the piping for a tie is also easy. #facemask #facemasksewing

16.01.2022 Replacing and changing out buttons is a regular task for me. A wedding called for the groom & groomsmen shirts to have the buttons changed from black to white/clear.

16.01.2022 New library bags for my boys while waiting for our next bundle to arrive. Little zip pocket for card on front and I’ve put a big tie in handles as they are a little large for them to carry just now. Henry is super proud of his ‘fox’ bag and has been strutting it around the house.

15.01.2022 Washing time. Another page for the kiddies quiet fabric book. Washing machine, peg on the line and iron the clothes

14.01.2022 Some piped patchwork blue cushions for these newly recovered antique chairs. I love giving new life to old furniture so this job was right up my alley. #renew #reupholstered #cushions #sewing #sewingpiping #blue #blueandwhite

14.01.2022 A bundle of European sized white linen cushion covers this afternoon #white #linen #cushioncovers #largecushions #whitecushions #europeancushions

13.01.2022 Best Christmas present ever!! This cubby looks so good, and even better with the addition of our blue bunting (if I can say so myself). Great job!!

13.01.2022 Adding some details to a plain white V neck linen top pattern. Some beaded embroidery over one shoulder and buttonup sides for some contrast and also easy access for feeding #beadedembrodery #addsomebling #buttonsides#breastfeeding #breastfeedingfashion #abitdifferent

12.01.2022 This lovely old boy has to go to the vet a couple of times a week as he recovers from an injury. I hope the trip is a bit more comfortable with these bright funky cushions Cougar, and get better soon

12.01.2022 Unless you get your clothing tailor made there is often little alterations that you wish for to customise your garments to perfectly suit you. When clothing fits better it is more comfortable, and it looks flattering so you wear it more. I regularly get customers say they feel like they got a whole new wardrobe from their old clothes which makes me happy. Here is another bundle of alterations ready to go back to their lovely owner. Enjoy the new outfits feeling !

11.01.2022 A little carrot for my cotton vegetable bags I use these, and other cotton mesh bags, for my veg when shopping and in the fridge. You can make them out of extra tea towels or fabric if you have them but I actually got these ones when I bought some essential oils so...score!!

09.01.2022 Thanks for your picture and comments Caroline Marsh. with the green surrounds and morning light this couch looks like the perfect spot to relax.

09.01.2022 Distressing denim. I have been asked quite a few times to distress denim jeans or jackets for people so here is a few helpful hints I have found. 1. Make small cuts in one direction 2. Using something rough (sandpaper adds some dirty marks or kitchen grater just adds wear ( I like to use the Parmesan slice section which has the teeth) rub in all directions across cuts holding it up front underneath with your other hand (careful not to get your fingers) to catch the threads a...nd pull them out - rough it up 2. Then pull and cut the threads with some sharp snippers or an unpicker in the same direction you first snipped until sections are as big as you want them. Only cutting out threads in one direction means the across grain threads will stay in place and add a wear mark instead of just big holes everywhere. 3. Cut off the big long bits or thread and the main fuzzy bits and then pull just a little more out around edges (pull towards center of hole) to make sure it doesnt look too clean - this will make it look more natural. You can rough up as much or as little as you like but keep in mind that the item will keep wearing in those places (especially if they are jeans you wash all the time) so they will only look better and better over time. #distressedjeans #distressed #distresseddenim #distresseddenimjacket See more

08.01.2022 Picked up these offcut pieces from a bucket at spotlight. Absolutely love the fabric pattern and gotta make something fun but cant decide what ...

07.01.2022 43x synthetic leather vinyl strap covers for a Physio Rehab Clinic today. These can be easily removed and wiped down for COVID safe practice at the clinic...

07.01.2022 Organising my big thread spools. I love to have all my threads easy to see instead of in a box but a sewing room can be very dusty so I used some clear plastic sheeting from bunnings and upholstery tacked it around one side of some timber with a join in the middle to make it easier to get into. The rods which hold to spools are from a fence panel from bunnings and my super awesome bro actually cut across some of the joins with his grinder for me which saved me a lot of time!! I then just bent a 3 square long bar out for the spools and a single square for the bobbins. The cut ends do need a little smoothing off and it works a treat.

06.01.2022 One of my favorite outdoor throw cushion fabrics so far. This sunflower yellow pattern is so bright and happy it was a joy to sew. #outdoorcushions #waterresistantfabric #sunflower #yellow #outdoorlounge

05.01.2022 Christmas cushions these covers are the same size as the all year round cushion inserts so they just fit over the top and pack away flat during the year. #christmascushions #christmasdecorations #christmasdecor

05.01.2022 Another 20 large cushion covers completed last week. Dont the refreshed white cane chairs look great!! Everyone is using this extra time at home to get some projects done. This fabric is water and sun resistant which is great for outdoor use and available for $10-25 per meter so quite affordable and for 2 double chairs and 2 single lounges it required 13m. There is also water and sunlight protected fabric if you are looking to invest for the future for chairs which are in constant direct weather although colours are a little less varied and fabric starts from $35 per meter.

05.01.2022 Sets of curtains, bed cover lets and lumber cushions for a client’s holiday house.

05.01.2022 All packed and ready to go. 10 outdoor cushions for 4 lounges completed and throw cushions to match. Looking great in their new home

05.01.2022 Can you spot the seam? I’ve taken out 6cm from the side seam of this pretty flowy skirt but I think it’s best that you can’t spot it easily when working with accordion pleats #itsthesmalldetails #accordionpleats #pleatedskirt #sewingalterations

04.01.2022 Changing over some earrings to surgical steel studs so they dont cause reaction. I removed the old stud first and drilled out the backs before gluing in the new studs #jewelleryrepair #surgicalsteelearrings

Ive just finished adjusting the sleeve length and puff so now its also perfect customised for my client too. #zimmerman #dressalterations #embroideredlinen

03.01.2022 A new water resistant outdoor lounge cushion cover set out to its new home. The blues in the throw cushions pair really nicely with the stone colour cushion covers. This was a fully piped set for a 3 seater and two single lounges including bolster cushions for each and patterned throw cushions.
