20.01.2022 With all the rain around it has been all that trainers can do to find a race meeting that is not abandoned and there is little doubt that when they arrive is wi...ll be a heavy track to contend with. That was the case at Coffs Harbour on Tuesday when Dwayne Schmidt headed south with his team. Schmidt had three runners at the meeting and was not over confident but knew all of his three had to go around because of the runs they had missed through abandoned meetings. Casino Princess had finished just behind the placegetters had her two previous starts over 1700m at Grafton and 1590m at Ballina and looked the best of his chances even though she was coming back in distance to a 1400m Maiden. Whilst the stats would have indicated the mare was not a wet tracker some of her best Victorian runs were on rain affected tracks and her fourth at Ballina at her most recent appearance was on a Heavy eight. Given a peach of a ride by Jackson Murphy Casino Princess settled in the one by one before Murphy eased into the clear on the point of the turn to simply outstay her rivals in what was a real slog fest on the heavy track. Murphy who is now based in Brisbane is no stranger to the Schmidt camp having now ridden seven winners for the yard from just thirty race rides. Schmidt will now look for another suitable race for the mare whilst the tracks stay wet. Pic Casino Princess stretches out to win. 13.01.2022 WOOLI ROAD. Have just come back from completing a job in Wooli, driving through was fine but coming back was not so good. Part of the roadway betwee...n Sandy Crossing and Firth Heinz road is washed away and multiple other spots have water over the road. Unsure if it’s safe to detour via Firth Heinz road but I highly doubt it. This is a perfect example why you shouldn’t enter flood waters. It is recommended you avoid the area, at this stage it is only expected to become more inundated. If you become stuck and your life is in danger contact the appropriate emergency services.
