25.01.2022 FOSTER CARERS URGENTLY NEEDED If you are based in Melbourne and have ever thought of fostering or adopting a greyhound, we need your help. We have a waiting l...ist of greyhounds that we need to bring into our care asap. We have no kennels and rely on a community of volunteers to bring these dogs into homes and prepare them for pet life. Greyhounds adapt well to apartment life, but wed also love some carers with backyards for some of our more energetic greys. Homes without cats please. 22.01.2022 RESIDENTS NEAR HOLLOWAY ROAD Bayside Council plans to relocate the proposed netball courts to Sandy College rather than in the industrial area which is likely to have terrible traffic implications for us as residents. The Holloway Road site will attract even more cars to the area and its likely Council will have to open up Holloway Road at the Scout Hall. ... Traffic is already impacted by 3 sports ovals in Spring St 2 sport ovals in Holloway Rd The Japanese School at Sandy East Primary and now Bullits Basketball Club will be running training at Sandy East Primary stadium. Opening Holloway Rd access is the only way to reduce congestion but at major risk for the primary school crossing and residents attracting truck traffic from our neighboring semi-industrial sites. Council have made it clear they ARE NOT requesting feedback from residents on the proposal. The next Council meeting is 15 September. I urge you to contact council via their online form Request to be Heard before 15 Sept. When you have made your request, please forward a copy of the automated email receipt to me so we can keep the numbers of requests and keep the council honest. This plan relocation has been very secretive. The report is attached as well as the link to the online form. Best regards Kylie Charlton 0408855414 [email protected] https://yoursay.bayside.vic.gov.au//update-bayside-netball https://www.bayside.vic.gov.au/request-be-heard-council-mee Item number 10.7 Item name: Bayside Netball Centre Pls feel free to pass to your neighbours.

16.01.2022 DJ Nana is still missing While homeschooling this week we were looking at Egypt, the pyramids, the Sphinx, the Pharaoh. I told a story about walking up Mount... Sinai in the night with torches and waiting for the sunrise. I explained its so clear and dark you can see a gazillion shooting stars, like natures own fireworks. My seven year olds eyes lit up and and his mouth fell open then he shouted we need to go there and wish on the shooting stars for DJ Nana to come home!. To everyone who has phoned, text, commented, posted, prayed or wished for her safe return THANK YOU. We are overwhelmed with gratitude. And grief. Please keep looking for DJ Nana. Please phone 0413 412131 if you can help reunite our family.

10.01.2022 We were all saddened to learn that Metropolitan Melbourne will return to a Stage 3 lockdown from midnight tonight. As such, the SMJFL announced that the 2020 se...ason will be delayed for the period of six weeks, or until otherwise notified by the government. This includes a suspension of all club training. We know you will be as disappointed as we are, especially given how close we came to that first kick. Lets stick together through this next hurdle and stay safe. Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far. We will continue to work closely with the SMJFL and advise you of any information and updates. #zebbies #weareallinthistogether #sadface #staysafe

09.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago we outlined our plan for the next stage of restrictions easing. It was cautious. Considered. And it relied 100% on case numbers staying lo...w and stable, and testing remaining high. Pleased to say that today we can confirm that plan and take a few more steps along the way. These include a staggered return to community sport with full-contact training and competitions for under 18s resuming from 22 June, and everyone back to full competition by 20 July. Bars and clubs can reopen to seated patrons. Restaurants will be able to host up to 50. Cinemas can screen films, and theatres can put on shows. Shared kitchens and bathrooms at camp grounds and caravan parks can be used again. And the snow season has got the official green light. Thats whats changing. Heres whats not. If you can work from home, you must continue to work from home. This is absolutely crucial to pulling this off, and its no exaggeration to say that every single one of us is part of this solution. We simply wont be able to take these steps if passenger numbers on the PT network creep up and there is just no way we can have tens of thousands of people travelling into the city every day while keeping everyone safe. Three more important things that arent changing: Keep using common sense. Keep getting tested if you have symptoms. And keep looking out for each other.

05.01.2022 An important message from Moorabbin police please read and share Last month, after extensive surveillance and covert operations around the Kingston and Gl...en Eira areas, police and other law enforcement agencies executed multiple search warrants and arrested ten offenders. Firearms, commercial quantities of methylamphetamine, trafficable quantities of cocaine, cannabis, GHB, steroids, various other drugs and manufacturing equipment, numerous identifications, weapons, large amounts of cash, a BMW and a large amount of property believed to be proceeds of crime were seized by police. From these investigations, further offenders were charged with committing a large number of what we call volume crime offences to fund their drug habits. These included stealing from cars, stealing from letter boxes and stealing delivered packages from front doors. We have about 12 cases of mail theft reported per month in our area and this would be largely under-reported because we might just assume mail went missing. Mail theft leads to identify fraud through a thief having your name, credit / debit card information, address, date of birth, bank account information, and so on. For our local area, these have recently led to withdrawing cash from your bank, purchasing mobile phones, renting vehicles or accommodation, obtaining loans and accessing superannuation funds. Some tips: Keep your letterbox locked and emptied regularly Consider the use of a PO Box Divert mail when you are on holiday (after COVID!) Switch from paper bills to electronic where possible Report any thefts or suspicious activity immediately Lock up your cars. Please. Also note that thieves target apartment complexes where a bank of mailboxes can be accessed within minutes so you may be more vulnerable to mail theft in an apartment.
