19.01.2022 Conditioned responses - love this analogy of the Elephant - we all have the ability to overcome those obstacles that keep us in a certain pattern of behaviour in life - it’s only until we are ready to be courageous and step out of them that it will happen - maybe 2021 is the year for you

14.01.2022 A little video on birthing success - Even though this scenario is hilarious and most people would say that wouldn’t happen in birth suites - sadly it can happen like this in reality and couples wonder what did we do wrong normally it’s nothing !!! The birthing environment including staff’s attitude, lighting, body exposure, being observed, equipment used, inferred deadlines, noise levels (including the ticking clock) interruptions, feelings of safety, negative language used ALL have a HUGE impact on Mothers being able to get in their zone and remain there through transition and their ability to allow natural physiological birth to happen ..
14.01.2022 Great to capture this moment with Dads and aren’t human mothers amazing how they can create golden colostrum for their babies as nature intended to give them the best start in life
12.01.2022 Do women in Australia have the birth they want? Safe Motherhood for All Inc. has launched the Birth Dignity Survey 2020 We are seeking to find out if Australian... women have the maternity care they need and want and to gain a fuller picture of Australian women’s experiences during her pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. The survey is open until 30 September 2020 for all women who have birthed in Australia in the past two years. Please, click on the link to complete the Birth Dignity Survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BirthDignitySurvey2020 Women have different hopes and fears concerning pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. These are shaped by individual experiences as well as their social and cultural background, and the care they received. The principle of human dignity is the ultimate value on which respectful maternity care depends. It is particularly relevant in the maternity context, where women are often vulnerable, both physically and emotionally. The quality maternity care services treat women with dignity, create trust and prevent harm. We are also keen to understand a women’s sense of supportive relationships with health professionals and their sense of control over decisions made during birth as research has consistently shown these are two of the most important factors in ensuring positive experience in having a baby. Following on from our 2017 Survey, we are keen to understand women’s experience of maternity care in 2020. #SafeMotherhood4All #RespectfulMaternityCare #MaternalHealthMatters #pregnancy #MaternalHMatters #mother #baby #newborn #maternity #pregnancy #pregnant #expecting #birth #normalbirth #motherhood #parent #grandmother #expectant #childbirth #WOCaffirm

04.01.2022 My Mother’s heart shone through in everything she did in this world. I knew she loved me with all of her being. She had a generous spirit, full of forgiveness greater than anyone I know. I am blessed to have had her in my life and been raised by my Grandmother who has shaped me as a mother I am today .... she has been an inspiring tower of strength over the years who always believed in me and encouraged my dreams. My girlfriends - I treasure their friendship - they make the ...difference in my life, their support, their honesty, their words of wisdom when I need it. Their ability to make me laugh at myself and lift my soul when I am down. To those women I work with everyday welcoming their babies into the world, Thankyou too for the insight into the essence of motherhood the self discovery, the loss, the joy, the frustration, the everlasting bond that parenting creates. Know your children will shape you as well and they will love you even if you are having a not so good day we are all human, love who you, know you are enough just the way you are. Hope you all had a special day and celebrated the uniqueness of you and spent it with your loved ones if possible Happy Mother’s Day
