24.01.2022 One from my last trip home to 'the Hill' a few months ago, catching some of the piercing sundown over the Regeneration area out the back in a daily ritual, though ninety-nine percent of the time not taking selfies. Late at night, if I'm not feeling the spirits too much, I like to stand out the back under the darkness and the moonlight, and the stars, and the distant planes over the stations, and talk to the Universe, the Goddess, and fill D. in on my day. One of the many times I asked him to send me a sign, he cheekily set the pump on the tank off, scaring the sh-t out of me. When my feet touched the ramp again I laughed. Good one. :)

20.01.2022 You can't beat a Far West sunset over the edge of Broken Hill. In the second photograph, the sunset, a little to the north-east (right) of the first, is crimson. But unless you want me to drive the ute into the backyard and stand on the roof, you'll have to make do with me standing on fence capping and trying not to cut my arms on the top for the crimson.... Maybe tomorrow!

03.01.2022 Not that I have a bucket list, but, yay! Coombah Roadhouse! When I was a little tacker, Nanna came up from Tassie to the station, and said, "If you girls are good, I will take you out for tea at Coombah Roadhouse." God how I wanted to go there, and thought about being good! It was 290kms south. Years later, I had a night time meal break there on a bus trip, and remember a white meathouse-style screen door. But my Coombah obsession did not really grow until later. A couple of ...weeks ago, on my way from the Hill (Broken Hill) to a river fellowship retreat in South Australia, I pulled in off the Silver City Highway for a few minutes. The roadhouse looked different. On the return trip a few days later, I called in for a coffee, and sat out under the veranda with a welcome cappucino. The original roadhouse burnt down about twenty years ago, but though Nanna wasnt with me, I can still say that I have ticked Coombah Roadhouse off my bucket list.
