23.01.2022 Still one of the most emotional weddings I've ever done! 3 years ago today, I had the privilege of performing a wedding ceremony for Robyn and Kym. Robyn was in hospital - terminal - given not much longer to live. Even though Robyn and Kim had been together for 20 years, they both wanted to declare their love for each other by getting married, and because same sex marriage has passed in Australia a few weeks earlier, we organised a shortening of time through the Registry a...nd 2 days later, a beautiful ceremony was had in the Chapel of the Hospital. Robyn enjoyed 5 days of being married to Kym before she grew wings and flew to the pearly gates. I'd know Kym (her sister Chris and their family) my whole life so this moment was extra special, and meant the world to me to be a part of it. See more

03.01.2022 I received a few enquiries lately from couples wanting to get married in a few weeks....so here's some information regarding the time limit for getting married: Before you can marry, the law requires that you complete and sign a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form. The NOIM must be lodged with your Celebrant a minimum of one month and up to eighteen months prior to the wedding date. You will need to show proof of ID documents which are your birth certificate and drivers l...icence OR passport, and any relevant divorce/death certificate. Electronic copies of these documents are now acceptable too. As an example, if you sign and lodge a NOIM with your celebrant on 20 January, then you can get married on or after 20 February. :-)

In this ritual, each person has a vase with different coloured sand in it, and there is an empty vase. While I talk about joining together as one, everyone involved, pours the sand into the empty vase. The sand can never be poured out and separated again, so you're bonded together forever.
