23.01.2022 We’re doing this art activity today - just as much for me as for my youngest! What a great opportunity to talk about colours, shapes, design, textures, native animals and their habitats. Plus creativity is great for us all. Lovely freebie for kids from Pete Cromer.

23.01.2022 Babbling for babies is an important stage in their speech and language development. Here is some great information from The Hanen Centre.

22.01.2022 This is great information especially in the lead up to the new school year.

22.01.2022 Heres a great resource from Northcott for apps for helping kids in a new school year.

22.01.2022 Some days........ you just need to see a baby hippo have a great Saturday everyone!

22.01.2022 I think Ive shared this app before but I think its worth sharing again! Some children get so caught up in the task of handwriting that they arent able to focus on the work that is required of them. This free app can help by allowingn a worksheet or page to be scanned into an ipad and then typed on.

21.01.2022 New App Alert: The makers of Candy Crush Saga have released an educational game called AlphaBetty Saga, a spelling game that plays exactly the same as the original popular app. The game is suitable for school age kids up to adults and helps grow spelling ability in a fun and engaging way. Ive found this one just as addictive as Candy Crush (for me as well as the kids!). N.B this is a free app with in app purchases - but you can disable this function in your devices settings. 20.01.2022 I’ve recently asked with the talented Amanda from AA Graphics to help me with rebranding my business and I wanted to represent how much enjoyment and professional satisfaction I feel working with children and their families. My priority is to create a warm, friendly and supportive therapy space that allows children to grow and flourish. I want my families to find confidence in themselves and a sense of pride and achievement in the new skills they develop. Thanks Amanda, I really love what you’ve done!

20.01.2022 This collection of English as a second language resources is also fantastic for children struggling with a language delay or disorder. There are some fanatic and very clear, easy to use worksheets here for home or school practice.

20.01.2022 Pamela Snow always provides evidence based words of wisdom, as well as thought provoking arguments and I highly recommend her blog. This new blog outlines while speech pathologists aka speech- language pathologists work in literacy.

20.01.2022 Speech Pathology Week is August 23-29, 2015: Professor and Head of the La Trobe Rural Health School, Pamela Snow, is privileged in her role to speak to educatio...n, welfare and youth justice audiences, so she uses these opportunities to spread the word about what oral language competence in early life looks like and why it is important in its own right and as the basis for the transition to literacy #SPweek #Talkwithme See more

19.01.2022 Hello and welcome to 2020! The school year has now officially started in the Western Region of NSW and I have great plans for my service for this year. I have been spending quite a bit of time thinking about service delivery options for rural, remote and isolated families in our country (and elsewhere too!) as both a service provider and a service user. Having to travel for health appointments, access intermittent appointments, lack of options and choice, and hub and spoke... models of service delivery can be frustrating and reinforces the city/rural divide in health outcomes. While I dont have a solution, I am interested in your opinions and ideas - because I believe that working together and listening to people living the problem, will lead to the best and most creative solutions. As a start Id love you to fill out this quick survey and share it in your networks. Thanks and look forward to your feedback. The results from this survey will be used to inform service improvements for Language For Life, Kylie Toynton Speech Pathologist only. Participants remain anonymous, and no personal information is collected. Thankyou for your participation in this survey.

08.01.2022 In the event that there is a closure of preschools, schools or health centres, I am fully set up to deliver teletherapy to those that need to keep accessing activities and therapy in the duration. Families accessing services via NDIS can fully claim Telehealth services. No need to download any special programs - I send you an email inviting you to the appointment, you click on the link and well be good to go. Ive included a link to the Coviu patient information guide for you below. 01.01.2022 I, like many of you, are juggling trying to assist and support my kids at home while trying to work as well. Sometimes things go well, other times not so much! I ended the day with a walk with my youngest to the mailbox, which on our place is 1 km away, and picked up a special package - Bananagrams! Board games are a great way to come together as a family and have a bit of fun, and I highly recommend this game for all ages How did your day go?
