09.01.2022 After spending years chasing waterfalls and capturing the detailed texture and filtered light through rainforest canopies in northern nsw all the way through to far north qld, it gives me a sense of grounding and youthfulness when I adventure into the small pockets of rainforest here on the Sapphire Coast. When we last ventured into this particular spot back in March 2019, it was lush and green although on closer inspection you could see the effects of the drought with the br...owning of the leaves on most plants, the lush green canopy appeared to be shrinking. We returned to the Goodenia Rainforest in December 2020 after months of decent rain expecting lovely water flowing over mossy rocks. We were surprised to see less water than we had expected although the canopy had returned greener than ever. After discussing how this area could still be lacking in water, we came to the conclusion that after drought then fires burning the surrounding mountain which feeds water to the Goodenia Forest, is still repairing itself lapping up most of the water in its regeneration. Then the water that reaches the forest floor is being lapped up by the Forrest trees that had been struggling in the drought leaving less water in the creek. We will return to this area in a couple of months to check out the ever changing conditions and hopefully, the return of abundant water. #rainforestalliance #myhappyplace #earthingmysoul #breatheinbreatheout #regeneration

06.01.2022 I’ve had the sweetest tiniest little birds enjoying my garden this year. These little Thornbills have moved on and welcome to come back anytime. It was such a delight to watch them flutter thru the branches. #naturecuties #raw_birds #sapphiresnappers

05.01.2022 This Great White Egret visits our dam regularly always on a solo mission never bringing a friend. His main diet is fish but our dam has none, then after reading up on these birds it appears they like to eat amphibians and reptiles to, so unfortunately he is munching on our resident frogs. #birdsofaustralia #greatwhiteegret #froglegsfordinner #raw_birds
