21.01.2022 At last the fruit trees are beginning to flower. This is a Hood pear in my orchard which has low chill requirements. It is suitable for sub-tropical climates. Pears are tough - they are coping with the drought and sub-soil clay here in Deuchar.

13.01.2022 Dry stone wall with tree built by Eric Landman in memeory of his wife Kerry. Kerry Landman Memorial, Island Lake Conservation Area, Mono, Ontario. The main wall... is Limestone with local rounded granite fieldstones that were found on site to represent the leaves. 05.01.2022 Trialing Eco Bags which will drip water on my new bare-rooted trees I have planted this winter. The literature claims a full bag will last around 4 weeks. Also placed a few around older trees as well. This is a Champion Quince, planted in 2012 and although a small tree due to drought and poor soil produced 14 lovely quinces this year.
