25.01.2022 A great montage from Robyn Wawn of some of the aircraft on display at our Cancer Council "Australia's Biggest Morning Tea" Fly-in https://bit.ly/2VW1oss

25.01.2022 Kyneton Airfield Master Plan Adopted At last nights Macedon Ranges Council Meeting (22/07/2020) 8 years of working collaboratively and constructively with Council resulted in the adoption of the Kyneton Airfield Master Plan. This is a wonderful outcome for the Kyneton Aero Club and the local community; building on the 2014 Council decision that the Kyneton Airfield is to remain permanently at its current location.... The Master Plan provides for a number of amenity and operational improvements to the facilities at the Kyneton Airfield for all users, including Emergency Services; and the Aero Club looks forward to working with Council to implement the Master Plan initiatives.

24.01.2022 From a national list of entrants, the Kyneton Aero Club has been awarded the General Aviation Wings Award as issued by the Australia Division of the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Australian Flying magazine as 2017 Aero Club of the Year.

23.01.2022 Fantastic work by Kyneton local, Brian Wilson, in putting together this video of the Kyneton Aero Club's Commemorative Flypasts in support of the 2019 ANZAC Day Services at Mt Macedon and Kyneton.

22.01.2022 Thanks to the wonderful effort of KAC members at yesterday's Working Bee, and putting aside the lack of recent rainfall, the Kyneton Airfield has never looked better. At the Biggest Morning Tea Fly-in this Saturday 04 May it will be a real testament to the pride the Kyneton Aero Club shows in maintaining the Airfield for all users.

20.01.2022 A huge thank you to our sponsors of today's AWPA "Women in Aviation Day"; thanks to the support and generosity of Hardwicks Meatworks, Bakers Delight Kyneton and Country Cob Bakery we were able to raise nearly $400 for the Kyneton Caring Community Foodbank, and at the same time have a great day promoting aviation in all its facets.

19.01.2022 After a number of disappointing first Saturdays of the month weather wise, which meant very few aircraft able to fly into our "Gourmet Hot Dog Fly-ins", yesterday we were finally blessed with a beautiful day. As a result over a dozen aircraft arrived as the Club hosted visiting pilots and passengers from around the State; thanks to the support of our visitors and our members we raised excess of $440 for the RMH Neuroscience Foundation. Thank you to everyone that attended and we look forward to seeing you in February - that's right, no Gourmet Hot Dog Fly-in January as with many people still on leave and/or away we have decided not to hold a January 2020 lunch.

18.01.2022 A huge thank you to all those that made today's RMH Neuroscience Foundation Gourmet Hot Dog Fly-in such a success. We had pilots, passengers and airplanes from around the State, along with local families, Club Members and friends of the Kyneton Aero Club all enjoying a great lunch. Due to their generosity we raised over $300 for this very important cause.

18.01.2022 The Macedon Ranges Shire Council has released the 2019 Draft Kyneton Airfield Master Plan for feedback at: https://www.mrsc.vic.gov.au//Have-your-say-draft-Kyneton-A. It is imperative that Members, family, friends, and anyone that values all of the benefits the Kyneton Airfield brings to the community, make a positive submission to this Draft. We cannot allow those opposed to the Airfield to claim a hollow numbers victory by coercing people into signing petitions on the basis of misinformation such as has been recently published in the supposed Fact Sheets. Submissions close Sunday 22 September, but please dont put it off until later and not get around to it, the Airfield needs your support.

16.01.2022 It's with great sadness that I record the passing of my mate Gleeso - John Gleeson. Gleeso passed away this morning in Kyneton Hospital after suffering a major ...stroke just over a week ago. I first met Gleeso in the early 1990s at the Avalon airshow when he was crewing for Manfred Radius. Since then, our paths have crossed regularly, notably through the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia. The photo below shows him at Ballarat with Neils Jensen in October 2008 in Neils' Airtourer VH-CND. My condolences to Gleeso's wife Lyle and his family: he will be missed.

16.01.2022 The Dawn Service flyover at the @memorialcross this morning. #lestweforget

14.01.2022 Kyneton Airfield Master Plan Adopted At last night’s Macedon Ranges Council Meeting (22/07/2020) 8 years of working collaboratively and constructively with Council resulted in the adoption of the Kyneton Airfield Master Plan. 12.01.2022 Thank you to all those members and visitors that attended todays Gourmet Hot Dog Fly-in, we had a fantastic roll up and a very successful event; raising $ 407 for the RMH Neuroscience Foundation. We are hoping for a similarly great day on Saturday 04 May when we will again be hosting a Cancer Council Australias Biggest Morning Tea Fly-in.

10.01.2022 A great honour for Kyneton Aero Club to provide this Commemorative Flypast of the Mt Macedon Cross ANZAC Day Dawn Service this morning, then later in the morning of the Kyneton RSL Service ANZAC Day Service at the Cenotaph.

08.01.2022 Thanks to some kind weather and great support from Kyneton Aero Club and SAAA CH20 members; along with many family and friends, the Kyneton Aero Club's 2019 Xmas Party was a huge success today. With nearly 90 people sharing the Christmas spirit and having a wonderful time. Santa's arrival in the Club's C172 being a particular highlight for those younger attendees.

08.01.2022 Due to our Cancer Council "Australia's Biggest Morning Tea" Fly-in this coming Saturday 04 May, we will not be holding our usual 1st Saturday of the Month Gourmet Hot Dog Fly-in, but you can still come along and enjoy some yummy food and contribute to a wonderful cause, 1000 - 1200 at YKTN.

06.01.2022 Kyneton Airfield and the Kyneton Aero Club again show their importance to firefighting efforts protecting the Macedon Ranges community by providing a base for "hot refuelling" operations of rotary wing Helitac and Firebird aircraft working on the Pastoria fires over the past 2 days, a secure location to pre-deploy these assets to on high risk days, and much appreciated crew standby and rest facilities.

04.01.2022 Despite todays inclement weather, which stopped a number of aircraft that had intended to fly in from doing so, todays RMH Neuroscience Foundation Gourmet Hot Dog Fly-in, well actually drive-in today, still raised $302.30 for this incredibly worthwhile cause. The Kyneton Aero Club would like to thank all those people that made a special effort to venture out in the cold to join us and help make the event so enjoyable and successful.

04.01.2022 The Club has received a number of inquiries about the 3 aircraft in Formation over Kyneton late this morning. Each year Kyneton Aero Club members and friends, weather permitting, provide Commemorative Flypasts of the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Mt Macedon and then later in the morning the Kyneton RSL ANZAC Day Service in Mollison St. CASA approves these flypasts, however, a condition of these approvals is that the pilots/aircraft involved undertake a minimum of 30 minutes formation practice as a team in the 7 days prior to ANZAC Day. What several people witnessed this morning and inquired about was the ANZAC Day team undertaking that practice. The attached photo is of one of these Commemorative Flypasts of the Mt Macedon Cross Dawn Service in 2016.
