24.01.2022 The stones were a little frosty this morning at Tanderrum. #kyneton #kdswc #drystonewalling @ Kyneton, Victoria

23.01.2022 It’s good to see local councils enforcing the reinstatement of heritage dry stone walls in new housing estates. This is a job Evan and the team completed last week at Rockbank. 12 metres long, 700 high and 900 wide. No shaping and limited dressing with copes laid flat to be consistent with the local style of walls. It was a post and wire wall with a heavy batter angle. The test is can you stand on it without any movement!

22.01.2022 Restoration of an Irish style single skin historic dry stone wall in Axedale. Not a common style in Australia. We focussed on stability and getting a more consistent cope level. The 3 tiger snakes kept us on our toes.

19.01.2022 Hello fellow Wallers and walling enthusiasts. What a year it has been! We had a fantastic Lost Trades Fair in Bendigo in early March and then three days later, the world went crazy with lock-downs, restrictions, masks, no social life and sadly the loss of too many lives. Somehow, we managed to battle our way through and keep our Wallers on the wall (so to speak) and get through our varied and numerous projects. We now have six Wallers/labourers at the centre including our fi...rst apprentice. Our order book looks healthy and the team are really looking forward to the end of 2020 and a few weeks off. We have just completed two catch-up training weekends and already have students booked for next year. The Lost Trades Fair for 2021 is looking good and we hope you will pay us a visit then or you can drop me an email anytime. All the best for the festive season. Jim Kilsby - Founder and CEO

17.01.2022 Just finished off our latest job. Evan and John have created a long snake like wall (about 30m) with stairs going up an adjoining wall at one end and then emerging to an amphitheatre for concerts and movies under the stars at the other end. Some big stone in the Amphitheatre part but all made from onsite stone. John Beurle is Australias leading Passive Home expert and consultant and this Dry Stone Structure integrates perfectly into the environmental context of this home. Working with John on his vision was a tremendous opportunity for teaching and learning both ways. Looking forward to being part of the first opening event there. Jack the dog also loved it.

11.01.2022 A snaking retaining wall coming along nicely. Copes, steps and another 15 metres of wall to go. #kdswc #kyneton #drystonewalling

03.01.2022 A foggy morning for Evan on a driveway retaining wall he is working on. This shows the top of the wall and the roadway is below that level. Wonderful photo by the owner, John Beurle. Nature at its best.
