22.01.2022 We need some help with the Billycart Bonanza! This Saturday afternoon 8th at 3pm for an hour we need some help to load hay bales onto the truck and Sunday morning 9th at 6:30am to unload and set up the hay bales. Send us a message if you can help. Thank you.

07.01.2022 The entry fee for all race classifications is $20 per billycart per race including 'Battle of the Businesses'. This fee must be paid upon registration in cash on the day of the event. Scrutineering and Registration 7:15am - 9:00am

06.01.2022 Classifications and Descriptions TRADITIONAL Non-pneumatic (solid) tyres Maximum 2 persons of same age group Box cart typically made from wood... Must have 2 axles, minimum space between wheels 400mm Must have 4 load bearing wheels Maximum cart width 1200mm Must have adequate braking & steering HOMEGROWN Must have pneumatic (pump up) tyres Maximum 2 persons of same age group Made from any lightweight material Must have 2 axles, minimum space between wheels 400mm Must have 4 load bearing wheels Maximum cart width 1200mm Must have adequate braking & steering PROFESSIONAL May have pneumatic (pump up) OR non-pneumatic (solid) tyres Maximum 1 driver (no passengers) Engineered from any lightweight material May have three or four wheels Maximum cart width 1200mm Must have adequate braking & steering NOVELTY Maximum 2 persons of same age group Open to carts that don’t meet the requirements for other classes but must have special crowd appeal. Must be appropriate for an audience that includes children. Ie. must be family-friendly. Entrants may only enter this race once to avoid finals confusion. **Tag Team - Two or Three competitors per team comprising three legs using the same cart ie. The first leg team member drives the billycart down the hill, the second runs the billycart on foot up to the start line and tags the third who then drives the billycart down the hill to the finish).

06.01.2022 Rules 1. All billycarts will receive a minimum of 2 runs first being a practice run. 2. All carts must have adequate braking and steering mechanisms. 3. Billycarts made from unduly heavy materials or carrying additional ballast will not be permitted to run. Carts should have an approximate maximum weight of 75kg. Heavier carts may be permitted at... the discretion of the scrutineers depending on braking and steering. Random weight checks will be carried out throughout the day. Any cart considered unduly heavy will not be permitted to run. 4. Billycarts must have fixed seating. Drivers and passengers MUST remain seated during the race. 5. All carts must conform to the applicable driver/passenger classification 6. All carts must be appropriate for an audience that includes children. Ie. Must be family-friendly. 7. Protective clothing and gloves recommended. HELMETS ARE COMPULSORY. 8. If entrant and billycart fail to arrive on time, the race will start without waiting. 9. The same billycart cannot be used more than once in the SAME race category. 10. All billycarts and drivers must be available for scrutineering between 7.15 and 9.00am at the designated place near the start line in Stratheden Street. 11. All billycarts will commence from a standing start a. No outside assistance is allowed b. No pedaling, pushing, paddling or propulsion of ANY kind is allowed. c. Rocking is allowed d. Billycarts must proceed under their own weight. 12. Billycarts must travel in a straight path no swerving or weaving or turning from side to side. 13. Any billycarts that crash will be disqualified. At the discretion of the scrutineers the billycart crashed into may receive another run, time permitting. 14. A billycart driver may be disqualified at any time at the discretion of the Course Marshal. Dangerous driving, billycarts considered to heavy or unsafe, or bad conduct by participants, will not be tolerated and may result in immediate expulsion or disqualification from the event or the whole day. 15. The Chief Marshals decision (or that of his delegates) is final and binding, with no correspondence entered into. 16. The organising committee reserves the right to rearrange or cancel events. 17. All 3 wheelers & 3 wheelers with training wheel will be deemed PROFESSIONAL. 18. There will be no refunds 19. ALL PARTICIPANTS ENTER AT THEIR OWN RISK. See more
