24.01.2022 Council has been advised by Transport for NSW that there will be changed traffic conditions on Jenny Constable Bridge, Summerland Way, Wiangaree on Monday (23 November) to allow for maintenance and inspection work to be carried out. One traffic lane of the bridge will be closed from 7am to 6pm. Transport for NSW will provide traffic control and impose a reduced speed limit for the duration of the work for the safety of workers and motorists. ... Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

19.01.2022 With heatwave conditions predicted over the coming days, Council will open the Kyogle, Bonalbo and Woodenbong pools for extended hours on Saturday and Sunday. All three pools will stay open an extra hour both days, and will close at 7pm. People are reminded that COVID restrictions are still in place and that it is essential that all pool patrons follow the direction of the life guards.

16.01.2022 WATER RESTRICTIONS Council wishes to advise that due to the lack of flows in Tooloom Creek, water restrictions will be increased in Woodenbong and Muli Muli. The villages of Kyogle and Bonalbo will remain on the current water restriction level. Commencing at midnight Friday, 27 November 2020 Level 2 water restrictions will apply in Woodenbong and Muli Muli... Level 1 water restrictions will continue in the villages of Kyogle and Bonalbo LEVEL 2 RESTRICTIONS - High target reduction 10% - 20% * Outdoor usage - domestic Micro-sprays and drippers/sub-surface can be used for a maximum of 15 minutes and hand held hoses can be used for hour every second day, between the hours of 4.00pm and 9.00am on odd or even days matching house numbering system. Other irrigation and unattended hoses banned * Private swimming pools Filling of new pools is not allowed. Topping up of pools allowed by hand held hose 1 hour/day outside the hours of 8am and 4pm on alternate days matching house numbering. Emptying and filling of existing pools banned * Business/Commercial Premises For level 2 restrictions (as above) :- Exceptions for sprinkler use and hand-held hoses (up to 2hr/day) allowed for essential businesses e.g. nurseries, or where business hours dictate water use e.g. schools, public gardens, sports grounds. 14.01.2022 The $500,000 redevelopment of the Kyogle Aquatic Centre is now officially open, creating a splash for the health and well-being of the local community. Kyogle Council Mayor Cr Danielle Mulholland, Deputy Mayor Cr John Burley and Crs Janet Wilson and Kylie Thomas were joined by Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan and State Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin to inspect the completed project. Works at the aquatic centre included the installation of a new access ramp to the mediu...m sized pool, new disabled and ambulant showering and toilet facilities, new water play equipment, and a solar electric power system. The Australian Government committed $250,000, the NSW Government $154,336 and Kyogle Council $93,817 to fund the $498,153 project.



14.01.2022 Road closure due to accident The Bruxner Highway is currently closed in both directions due to a motor vehicle accident 5 kilometres west of Mummulgum. The road will remain closed until further notice.

07.01.2022 LIONS ROAD UPDATE - road to re-open on Monday, 7 December 2020 Kyogle Council has been undertaking a $1million dollar upgrade of Lions Road with funding partners; New South Wales state government through the Fixing Country Roads Program, and Kyogle Lions Club supported by donations collected on Lions Road. The project has entailed some widening of the road, installation of new drainage culverts, rehabilitation and stabilisation of the pavement, and finally, enhancement and ex...tension of the existing guard rail system. Lions Road will have a full closure in place until 7 December 2020. The road will then open to traffic under traffic control while guard rail and signage installation occurs. During this time, motorists should seek alternative access or expect delays.

01.01.2022 Northern Rivers Joint Organisation (NRJO) Chair Cr Danielle Mulholland, leading businesses and regional stakeholders came together last Friday to sign a Memorandum of Understanding underpinning the new Northern Rivers NSW brand at Richmond Valley Council Chambers in Casino. The NRJO, the peak body for local government in the Northern Rivers, has been involved in Northern Rivers Together, the regional Steering Committee behind the Northern Rivers NSW brand, since its inception.... On behalf of the region's mayors, NRJO Chair Cr Danielle Mulholland highlighted the value of the brand to the region: The Northern Rivers Brand reflects the ethos of the Northern Rivers Joint Organisation which aims for the region to work together to build a cohesive, strong and vibrant community. This is a unique partnership of local government and private enterprise combining to create an overarching brand which will become synonymous with the region and provide a solid foundation for its future.
