20.01.2022 So what do these two La Fattoria images have in common? Well......the jarrah wood cladding of our entrance statement was recycled from Eric's Nonna and Nonno's original cow shed.... Nonna used to milk the family cow daily to make the cheese rounds she made every second day and was stored in this cupboard designed to keep the bush rats out.... Unlike the Coolgardie safe, this cupboard didn't use ice for cooling. It was kept in the cellar which sat at around 18 degrees all year round under the house...perfect conditions for curing cheese, home-made sausage and preserved olives....which are typical Sicilian traditions we still uphold today. Just a couple of ways we've managed to embed our family history into La Fattoria to keep the Radice Family legacy alive....and now another layer to enjoy when you visit us. Newbie or not....you will speak to either Eric or me personally to chat about your booking request . It's important to us that you understand what you are booking for, any dietaries of you and your guests and to make sure that everyone has a clear expectation of your time with us.... It has to be a win-win experience! You can't have a personalised experience like this on email or social media.....and we choose not to. It might take a bit of 'phone tag' to contact each other but we usually get there in the end. We couldn't have wished for more perfect weather to celebrate La Fattoria's 4th birthday with an absolutely fabulous group of people who have been on this incredible food and wine journey with our family since 2016. The thoughtful gifts and wishes on the day were so appreciated clarifying exactly why Eric and I do what we do to create a place of real connection for you all....and us...we love ...it!! So...... our next available deck table on a Saturday and Sunday is 9th and 10th January........ 02.01.2022 Well we knew it had to happen at some stage..... 14th November is D-Day and the reopening of WA's border is making us feel a bit nervous..... We have enjoyed such fortunate freedom and sadly we now we have to bring this thing back into a clear focus again........ At La Fattoria we have been so thankful to everyone who visits us....starting your day with us by sanitising your hands before entering our home. Eric and I are doing everything to ensure that we all feel safe so help us help you to continue our lucky way of life by refocussing on our social distancing when you come up for lunch. If you haven't booked we would appreciate that you call ahead before you come so we can check our capacity before you turn up. So as a team.... let's work together so we can continue our WA way of life when the borders are relaxed in the next couple of weeks. We've got some serious food to enjoy and Italian wines to sip and we intend to honour all those bookings that are locked in between now and Xmas. Thank you..
