24.01.2022 Hi All, The Board of the South Sydney District JRFL have met this morning and decided to commence the junior league season from this weekend, Saturday the 1st and Sunday the 2nd of August. Clubs are reminded that Covid Plans with the latest restrictions in place will need to be adhered to for training and playing.... The situation will be monitored and reviewed when appropriate. A draw will be released when all allocations are received. I wish all those involved the best for the weekend ahead and beyond. Please note that the games will go for 8 weeks depending on any future advice regarding COVID19. For ages Under 5 to Under 12 these games will be non-competitive this year.

23.01.2022 Although we have had 2 continuing days without rain can every one please wait until advice is received from Randwick Council whether Yarra Oval will be open for Training purposes. This advice usually comes around 2.00 pm per day and once this is received we will update for everyone. Bear in mind we have had over 4 days of heavy rain. Thank you

23.01.2022 We have had 2 players sustain injuries. We wish them a speedy recovery. Eden Reweti with a broken Collar bone from the under 14 Girls team and Kylan Simon with a broken arm from the under 14 Boys team. Rest up and we look forward to you both playing with La Perouse United in Season 2021.

21.01.2022 Training is back on again for our Club. A couple of reminders of what is required. 1. Parents are to drop their kids off and pick them up as close as possible to their teams start and finish times. 2. Players are to have their own drink bottle. 3. A table will be set up with hand sanitisers and wipes. ... 4. No other children are to be on ground other than players. 5. No tackling bags will be available at this time. 6. Anyone with flu like symptoms should not attend training. 7. Where possible maintain a distance of 1.5 metres. 8. Please remember to sign an attendance register for your team members. Thank you

20.01.2022 Hi all, First of all we just want to thank everybody for their help and assistance for Season 2020 under the circumstances we experienced. It sure was a very different season to what we have been used to but we are grateful for your help, patience and support. Lets hope we do not have to go through another season like this one. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is approaching soon and we invite all members of our Club to attend and or apply for positions for Season 2021. The ...date will be forthcoming and it is expected to be held in early December. Do not miss the opportunity to get involved as volunteers are needed for Coaching/Manageing/Trainers and committee members as without volunteers your Club your Club cant do it on its own. The date of our AGM will be advised soon. Please watch this space.

18.01.2022 Hi all, Footy Season is back alive and well. The competition for kids teams begin next Sunday 11th April. There are still spots and time available for kids to register and play with a fantastic community orientated Club. All playing Gear is supplied so if your child, family and friends want to be play with us this year head down to Yarra Oval this afternoon for training and to meet new people. If you have any questions just fire away and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

17.01.2022 Season Dates 2021 has an unusual look about it in regard to holiday dates and weekends off etc. Nothing will be locked in until the NSWRL calendar is known however the First round of play will be the weekend of the 10th and 11th of April. Note that: Easter falls on the first weekend of April and is the first weekend of the school holidays.... Anzac Day is a Sunday next year. July school holidays actually commence in late June next year. June Long weekend falls later than most years being on the weekend of the 13th. Summer sport allocations have been extended due to the extension of the recent winter season ( could affect us in some capacity training/playing re availability) We will likely be looking to play an extra round or two of mini and mod if we can but still maintain stand-alone grand final days. A season draw will be confirmed once the NSWRL provide us with their dates so we can co-ordinate our international season into the mix. See more

These items will be for sale Tuesday's and Thursday's from 4.30 pm so if you want to grab a bargain get yourself down to Yarra Oval as all stock must go.

13.01.2022 URGENT: SOUTH SYDNEY District JRFL Ltd response to Covid 19 spike Due to the current situation of a Covid 19 spike in Sydney and the NSWRL determining that competitions in Western Suburbs and Canterbury districts should be delayed 2 weeks to assess the situation, the SSDJRFL Ltd have made the following decision: That all Souths Juniors clubs will not participate in Rounds 1 and 2 of the local (5s -12s) and NSWRL Combined Competitions (13s Open Age) due to commence this Satur...day the 18th and Sunday the 19th of July. Any training that occurs must be under the Step 2 protocols of the Return to Play Roadmap (deliberate contact drills not permitted ) An assessment on the season ahead will be made within those two weeks depending on advice received from the NSWRL and NSW health. Note that within our junior league there are many participants that reside in the areas considered hot spots in Sydney and that the cancelling of play for the Canterbury and Western Suburbs districts does not include those participants who are still rightfully free to play with our clubs. We also have two clubs that border the Canterbury district. Whilst we are fully aware that decision will not please all and are mindful of the efforts that clubs have made to return to train and prepare for play under Covid plans, our first priority in this matter is our responsibility to the local community and we feel that this is the best form of action at the current moment, particularly considering almost 4 months of our season has been lost already. Would be great to catch up and Yarn about old times, see what everyone has been up to and celebrate a great side and a great Club.... If you have any Lapa gear, please wear it. 09.01.2022 Hi all, Given the restrictions with COVID19 please see below roster for our Teams for training purposes: So far in regards to training days and times we have Under 10's - Thursday 430pm till 530pm. ... Under 11's - Tuesday and Thursday 430pm till 530 pm, they have requested to train on the Bottom Oval. Under 12's - Thursday 5pm till 6pm. Under 13's Wednesday 5pm till 6pm. Under 14's boys - Wednesday 5pm till 6pm. Under 14's girls - Wednesday and Fridays 430pm till 530pm. We are still waiting on some teams that have allocated training times to let me know your decision on the season. Also please keep to these training days as we need to adhere to the social distancing rules. Thank you

08.01.2022 Hi all. Just a reminder that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in December with information being provided soon, so keep an eye out for this. The Club can not operate without volunteers who play an integral part of the Club and this has been one of our biggest challenges in recent years. We all have busy lives but everyone is invited to attend so here is your chance to be involved. A lot of time and effort is needed in running the Club on a year to year basis an...d there has never been a more important time to help the Club and that is why we are asking everyone to play their part. 04.01.2022 We are currently looking for a Coach, Trainer and Manager for our Under 5s and Under 6s teams for this season. The season is a short one from July 29th to September 20th and it is non competitive. You must have a Working with Children number and we can put you through Coaching and league safe course if you haven't got one already. Also for those boys and girls interested NRL Players from the South Sydney Rabbitohs will be down the Oval from 4.30 pm to put them through some fun drills and activities so bring the kids along and have some fun. I am sure the players will not mind having photographs and autographs signed so lets all get down to Yarra Oval and make it the place to be.
