25.01.2022 What I like about this Graham Radcliffe abstract nude sculpture is that she dances. I tried to capture that in the photographs but youd need to see it in person to understand. 23.01.2022 Ms Belinda Lownds has achieved a childhood dream of operating her own art gallery. Belinda has been working as an artist for more than 20 years in UK and Australia. Last night Mrs Saxon Rice MP for Mt Coot-tha and Mr Phil Brown Arts Editor for Courier Mail officially open the gallery to a crowd of artists, art buyers and local business owners. 22.01.2022 LA51 has changed its exhibition business model to access a larger market. Paddington is a beautiful place to have a gallery, however to access larger markets, we are deploying the gallery online (similar business model to many online book stores). In addition we will hold art exhibitions at various busy venues to ensure a variety of art buyers. Our first offsite exhibition is at Freestyle located in the Emporium, Fortitude Valley. Pending venues include Tattersalls Club, Grand View, Hong Kong Jockey Club and the Manila Polo Club. Over the next month we will publish our new online gallery and schedule of art exhibitions, stay tuned - Belinda.

22.01.2022 Greetings clients, friends, companions and lovers of local art, A great night was had by many back in June at the opening event of the Moonesque Classical Portraiture Exhibition. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1512281215659456&set=vb.1479559705598274&type=2&theater... So many lovely comments and great feed back - those who came said they thoroughly enjoyed themselves! $850 was raised for The Mater Hospital Foundation ~ Art Therapy Dept ~ so a very big, heartfelt thank you to all those who gave their time, assisted, purchased works/unframed mounted images, postcards, tickets, bidders on By the Light... and those who graciously gave donations. As it was such an eventful evening, some people have commented that they didnt get a chance to feel immersed in the images, so this Friday night is a great opportunity to revisit the gallery (there will be more viewing space!) Lets discuss this body of work and speak to the models and artist/photographer first hand. If anybody you know missed out, here is another opportunity for them to come along, please let them know. A part of the LA51 Art Gallery Liberating Art Exhibitions selection work is back on display, accompanied by two other talented artists, drawing on the theme of the human form. 15.01.2022 LA51 Art Gallery is undergoing virtual renovations. Like all renovations its taking a lot longer than we expected...The gallery has moved from Latrobe Tce, Paddington to Online, we hope to complete the site within weeks.. and will publish a new selection of Art. We will release some pieces for short periods of time on facebook during the soft launch to assess feedback on the work. 15.01.2022 The 25th Tattersalls Club Landscape Art Prize was awarded yesterday evening. The winner of the Peoples Choice Award was New South Wales artist Fiona Lowry, with her beautiful piece "Its not me". The artwork is acrylic on canvas, featuring soft pastel tones and an airbrush technique that artistically illustrates the defining edge between man and nature in the Australian bush. Fiona won $30000 for her work.

The exhibition will feature an array of artwork - the bulk of which is of old Queensland houses from inner Brisbane, and some even older overseas urbanscapes. In addition to that, theres a few cartoon entries from the Bald Archie, and a couple of collages from his granddaughter. The exhibition ranges from tomorrow, the 17th, through until next Wednesday the 23rd. The exhibitions opening night is coming up this Friday the 19th. 10.01.2022 While there wasnt much luck in searching for galleries, our gallery directors did stumble across some interesting Oreo cows. These cows are bred with Lakenvelder belted cattle which gives them a white centre. Certainly an interesting find.

09.01.2022 Ed McMahon Artist spent most of his life here in Brisbane. After an architectural career and a decade as a restaurateur (The Lighthouse, Cleveland), Ed continued with cartooning, doodling on many a Guinness drink coaster. Ed then extended his talents to produce large scale cartoon wall paintings using acrylics on canvas. In the last few years, Ed has returned to memories of growing up in Spring Hill, the marvelous old workers cottages and the Queenslanders that filled his world at that time. Ed McMahon is hosting his third solo exhibition at the LA51 Art Gallery, Paddington.
